everyone has got carried away with the fella but i'm a little concerned if he is the man for us.
after reading his comments i have taken it that he sees us as an opportunity to manage over here and is using the fact that he played here for a while as reason to apply.
does he have a lack of knowledge of lower league footy over here?
does he have contacts over here for players to bring in?
what has he actually acheived in management at a good level and not as an assistant?
basement league footy in holland is not something i'm up on but if he were that great surely he would have a better job in his home country?

i think he is worthy of an interview but i am a little worried if truth be told that he is the right manager for stfc

I hope that answers your questions.

Although truth be told I share the same concerns. But let's not get carried away, he hasn't been appointed yet.[/b]

I think Arriba's reservations are valid to an extent.

However Of all the 'cheap option' names banded around the same questions could be said of them. In fact some of them have failed at a lower level. At least the man is managing a team and doing rather well at it.

My choice remains Sturrock (if committed to the STFC cause), then Nijholt.

Not to mention he'd be a hell of a better choice than Macari

My first choice is still Sturrock, he's done it with Plymouth at this level and although rolling back the years with Nijholt would be ace im not sure he would be the right choice considering we need to keep on the winning track.

i'm sure with his history, he could have applied to any number of other clubs over here - obviously he's seen what's unravelled at the club and chosen to apply. perhaps he is using us as a stepping stone, but it's not as though sturrock et al wouldn't be.

did wise? does macari?

he's not likely to be bringing many players in so will have time to build up contacts. i'm sure he knows people around the uk as he also played up in scotland.

he's taken stormvogels telstar - a tiny club by all accounts - to third position in the second tier of dutch football, their equivalent of our championship. i suppose the equivalent of that in the english leagues would be rushden & diamonds pushing for promotion to the premiership.

of course, you shouln't dismiss his achievements as an assistant and a coach because they are numerous and notable achievements. what's bodin achieved?

telstar is his first managerial appointment and he's not been there for very long i believe - if there aren't the opportunity there for him, he isn't going to get them.

if macari's such a great manager, why is he still out of work?

he'd be a better appointment than lou macari who probably knows zero about football away from old trafford nowadays.

Probably, but everyone said the same about Wise. What does it matter if he knows nothing, he if can get the team playing good football and winning games thats all that matters. If he is a good solid coach then he will get results regardless of whether he has been to Barent before

no, but he probably has some good ones in Holland

Many youth championships....and as sonic has said he has a little club punching well above their weight

A young, fresh, determined coach who has all the qualifications going, has managed for years at various levels and has a track record of doing well and has a very good reputation in Holland. I can see why you think he isnt the right man!

Nijholt looks like a paedophile. Even more so in the pic of his celebration after scoring against United, he is seen clearly demonstrating what he likes to do to small black children!

I'd rather have someone who has experience of lower divisions in England than one who has experience abroad.

Whilst I do think there are two sides of the coin to this, I would rather have a decent coach atm, rather than a big name that will rock the boat too much.

This team, under a good coach (that is not tactically brilliant) has shown signs of going up. One word that Wise may be leaving, then the Power departure has cost our form dear. We need that togetherness that Wise brought to the squad, regardless of the off field shananigans.
