hmm, reading that article sets off alarm bells. there's no way he'd be willing to operate under the constraints of our board and whilst he may take the job, he seems liable to walk out at the first opportunity.

quote-TOWN’S managerial shortlist is getting longer by the day. More than 30 hopefuls have formally applied for the vacancy – including some anonymous high-profile names and less secretive ex-Town players such as Steve White and Luc Nijholt.

we should give them 1 match each then the top 4 go into playoffs to decide are manager

Manager Idol - let the public decide.  After each match we can get Simon Cowell to slate the management team.

reading the Adver today it seems that maybe Williams wont get the job afterall. if  SSW wants experience then we can't do much better than Paul Sturrock

The board haven't sung the praises of Williams alot and Ady hasn't expressed an interest in the job enough.

This says to me... A new guy is coming in. It'll probably be Sturrock.

I got the impression it was SSW who particularly wanted a big name back in May or whenever it was that Iffy got the heave-ho so that kind of fits in.

I like the sound of Sturrock very much but I'm still riding the Nijholt train Cool

Cracking idea - can we get him to wear some big over-the-nipples pants though?

I think for the rest of this season we need someone who can properly train the players and keep them motivated and organised on the pitch. Wise was never a tactical genius but he never had to be. Where we go after that may depend on the manager's prowess in the transfer market and also adaptation and tactical knowledge.

Of the names being bandied around recently, I must say Sturrock would be my top choice.

Of the 30 (ish?) applications recieved that are to be whittled down to a realistic shortlist of a dozen or so, surely there's people in that 12 that we don't even know about (and are deemed good enough to rank ahead of 18 others) because they don't want they're name splashed across the media linking them to the job this early for whatever reason.

My point, has gone awol since I started typing. Bugger.
