Yeah, definitely think Austin’s time is done here.
Still not sure how / why him and Flynn are best buds all of a sudden.

Maybe as a player coach Austin might be value here but as a full time player I can’t see it personally unless his wages were dirt cheap.

Got the impression from his interview he wasn't too impressed with aspects of Mr Russell's approach

One of the problems with being employed is knowing when it is time to pack it in or move on, before you’re moved on. Going out at the top is a tricky thing to measure. What is the optimum value you put on yourself or those that pay for your services put on you. Nothing lasts forever and everything and everyone has a use by date.

IMHO CA has to decide what is move important to him, his legacy here or the last hoorah pay check? Going somewhere else for the money isn’t going to tarnish his STFC legacy, staying beyond his use by date is.

I feel like when things go wrong Austin (and his wife) don’t help with their cryptic social media posts that just add to the negativity. Excellent player here however glad to see him moved him this summer.

Why would we want him back?
and vice versa. Bloke was sold the dream to come back with promises of coaching badges etc and is now being called the bad apple of the dressing room because he dared to be as fucked off as the fans are for questioning why the team is being selected by anyone but the manager and why there is no proper medical support , to be fair the list goes on.

As for Flynn, i would imagine he seen how much Young and Kemp benefited from playing alongside him

Austin had some flashes of brilliance but to be honest 19th in league 2 was about the level he was playing at. Age and injuries had caught up with him I think.
