You don't have to disclose them but are there specific conditions on how/where the money should be spent?

^^ maybe a bit strongly put Tans :) ^^ It did sound as though Jed didn't know the new financial gent was coming in. Who is pulling the strings at STFC, and is that in full consultation with the (other) board members?

Is Sangita Shah actually a director.

Oh and thanks for STFC world, the ticket buying side is a piece of piss now.

Can't talk specifics,  I am concentrating on my own businesses and am currently out of the country but wish things had been handled differently.  Previous directors are as far as I am aware all happy now but there are still outstanding legal issues that are being dealt with.

I took a very small wage so if anyone had an issue with it I would be amazed..  I only took 50% of my contracted wage to keep costs down

So Steve....what was working with Jed like, what happens if Lee ended up in charge of STFC

And to Jeremy...would you comment on the rumour that 2 players were signed without medicals? On wages totalling circa £600k for these 2 players??

Working with Jed is a real rollercoaster ride, it's great but you have to understand the nature of the beast, he wants continual improvement, no matter what yiu do Jed wants more and that is a good thing for STFC.  Don't know Lee well enough to comment.

I thought it'd be easier for everyone, including people who haven't seen the threads yet, if they were split in two so that people can address their questions to the relevant individual.

It'd be nice if Mr Murrall could verify his identity. I apologise if I've offended you by doubting you Steve.

Probably me then !

So, if Steve does come back on here's some questions I'd like answered:

1) Who's running the club, Jed or Lee Power? As in, who reports in to who?
2) Who owns the club and/or majority shareholding in Seebeck 87?
3) You indicated you'd been "asked" to leave earlier than you'd expected, who asked? Jed or Lee?
4) Was that connected with the conclusion of the audit or is that just a coincidence?
5) You said you'd be concentrating on your own business interests (which is fair enough) but the club statement on your departure said "He will now have time to focus on the STFC MyWorld Project". Does that mean that's NOT owned by the club but licensed from you in some way?
6) Do the current board have funding to invest in the club or are they reliant on using the revenues generated by the club itself to fund the business?
7) Has Sanghita Shah been formally appointed to the board, as in has the paperwork been filed with Companies House or is this still pending? And which business is she a director of, the club or Seebeck 87?
8 ) Is Malta nice this time of year? I love Malta, proper jealous :)

I'd like to know Steve's take on Fjortoft's bar.

Was this Jed's idea ? I don't think I've seen one person take up the 'meal deal' of 12 bloody pound for a meal and a pint and 'guaranteed' table.

It's a waste of space in the Legends lounge in my opinion.

Hi Pauld,

Not going to answer all the questions as I don't think it's my place to now as these are on going events, however I would say the following;

1&2. Jed is the Chairman and sole owner as far as I know.  I would also add that the effort and enthusiasm Jed has injected into the club is the real driver that has led to the improvements and without him it is my belief that the club would be in trouble.
3. Rather not comment on this.
4. Complete coincidence
5. STFC MyWorld is a licenced product that generates money for the club
6. It is my understanding that funding is in place but obviously they are looking to create a self funding club going forward
7. Sangita is a fantastic addition to any board but I have no idea as to the current status of her appointment, but rest assured whatever Sangita does is the correct thing to be done at that time.
8. Its about 20 and very nice..

The more it rolls out, the more members generate money and STFC do get kick back from this so if it's successful then it gives back to members and clubs..

I thought he was actually taking the piss and having a laugh. It genuinely made me laugh out loud, and that's kind of rare on the internet. (It made me spit a whole pint of tea over my laptop while I convulsed in amusement.)

I was simply implying in a Callum Kennedy street-style, that he's on fire. :)

Edit: and this had been said shortly before my post as well, which raised a chuckle.

Like everyone else online, I always have a mouthful of tea when reading and I just found a pint meant less refills. If I sense something's going to be funny, I take a fresh mouthful and hold it, so as to ensure I carry on the tradition of spitting tea over my keyboard when reading something high on the lulz scale.

Hi Nomoreheroes

1. It was great, the day to day pressures of working in the club revolve predominantly around the financial pressures but the operational and sales team I had were great and deserve the fans respect as much as the team on the pitch. I think I did quite a few good improvements and left the business in a better position to survive as a self sufficient model, but have no doubt it is not there yet and the current board are having to support that short fall.

2.  It was nice to wake up on the first Monday after leaving and realise the stress was no longer mine, however I would never rule out coming and offering my support should Jed need any assistance in the future.

3.  I think you should as fans always understand that anything can happen, look at what people bring and what their plans are, I would suggest Jed is in it because he really is a footy fan, not everyone in the future may just be in it for that.  Overall though as long as everyone plays their part then I think the fans should be happy with where we have got to and maintain hope for the future that things go to plan..

Hope that helps..

My second question is have you had any contact with Callum Rice since his departure - did he go back to 'working the cruises' and would you say that his appointment was simply a case of 'jobs for the boys'?

Hi, I didn't see the fracas but it wasn't the reason Gary left.  Both Gary and Callum left when the board was restructured after we had reviewed what the club needed, neither left on a negative note to my knowledge.  If it was jobs for the boys it wasn't long lived..

That was an odd one that. His involvement pretty much epitomised why I (and many others I'm sure) had serious doubts at the time. I mean, a 6 bed B&B owner from Lincoln with no apparent business or football background, no obvious 'role', no links to the club and nothing to offer in terms of investment, who was (presumably) picking up a salary and / or perks?

Also, Greg Hall. What the fuck happened there?

I was one of the many who were baffled by Callum's involvement.  With the benefit of hindsight, I think (and Steve/Muz may be able to confirm) that he had a background in events promotion in & around Bedfordshire (?), and his remit was to look at the scope for staging concerts at the County Ground on a regular basis.

If that was the case (ie his having a very narrow, project-based remit), it was not very well communicated at the outset...leading many of us to wonder what the hell he was doing there.  May have been a little unkind, in retrospect.

I have this mental image of the club being a bit Heath-Robinson during Diamandis time and then being made more professional under the previous Board. It then seems that you came in and made things a bit more efficient and modern. Is that a fair assessment or am I way off the mark?

I'd also be interested to hear how and why you became involved and what your initial thought were on day one when you came in and saw the reality of the situation?

I'd also be interested to hear how and why you became involved and what your initial thought were on day one when you came in and saw the reality of the situation?

In my opinion the previous board were professional at board level but there was a disconnect from board to operations.  The CEO was fantastic in communication externally and presenting a real top level image, however the decision making seemed to be made at operational level without real guidance so nothing was really going to evolve. I would say there were hard decisions to make as soon as we arrived, we didn't flinch and we stood firm to make those decisions.

When we arrived there were too many staff for a club of this size, no real guidance for the operational manager, who I have to say was and is in my opinion doing a great job.  I believe I have left it at the right staffing levels and hopefully with the right structure to deliver Jeds vision.

Thanks again Steve - I expect you have gone to bed now, but interested to know one last thing. You have obviously looked on here (and presumably other sites) from time to time. There have been some nice and some very 'uncharitable' comments made at various times about you and your ex-colleagues. I wonder if you could shed light on how you and maybe some of your ex-colleagues have felt about the comments?

Well Jed has a very thick skin, so he took it in his stride, I on the other hand didn't have thick skin and at the beginning I took the accusations and comments very personally, contemplating walking away a few times, but I knew we were trying to do the right thing for the club and am very pleased that I stuck with it.

I must say though I also received a lot of complementary communications, especially when speaking directly to fans so it wasn't all bad...

Re Steve's last post, Mike Diamandis was not part of the last board, but the administration before that. Overspending aside (the benefactor model does work if the benefactor sticks around) the fans were almost universally supportive of Andrew Fitton, Jeremy Wray et al.

I've been hunting around the internet for a possible source of indignation, but it seems to be a spontaneous outbreak of hysteria without a reasonable cause. As this and the J. Wray thread show though, a little communication can go a long way to winning the goodwill of the fans, and I think in this case we're probably seeing the inverse, where rumour and paranoia spread to fill the gap left by a lack of information.

Steve

The accounts release earlier this week showed as at the end of May cash had fallen to around £150k.  This sounds low. Is there now more cash in the club to aid the day to day running.

Also can you shed any light if there is truth some supplier have not been paid and have threatened legal action?

There is certainly an undercurrent of distrust that is bound to erupt periodically - until such time as Power comes forward and explains his involvement properly.  The timing of the outbreaks is unimportant; they will happen sporadically.  And given our recent history (since 2000), Power cannot expect to maintain silence and have the fans completely on side.

When he feels able to do so, he must come clear about his position and the reasons for his involvement.  None of this has been properly explained yet.  What are the financial incentives for his involvement, for example?  What is his statutory relationship to the club?  All these questions have taken more of a back seat than otherwise they might have because of his apparent successes in the transfer market and our current involvement in the promotion race.

But he should not rely on this indefinitely.  Sooner or later, the questions will need to be answered.  While I'm slightly baffled by the reasons for the timing of the current questioning of his role on social media, I think the fact that it is happening at all is actually quite healthy.  We should be sceptical as a fan base.  The days of blind acquiescence are over.

From day 1 I had very specific cash flow forecasts and can assure you that monies required for the entire season were clearly defined and identified, however for the last couple of months I have had no control or input or indeed view of the financial situation so cannot answer the questions asked.  That to one side I am sure the relevant parties are in place to stand by their stated commitments to ensure the club is secure.

I don't currently have any projects on the go with Jed and I am not going to be part of the crucify Jed group as he has been good to me over the years.  I am sure time will tell who did what and when and Jed is big enough to make his own case.  I am merely making representation of what I did and inviting anyone to suggest I did wrong as I did not.

Yes I was a director, a hands on director doing a job as specified by the board.

But you said earlier that 'based on my knowledge that is what I thought he would do' as a Director would you not know what he was doing as he would (as you were as you rightly say) be answerable to the board - of which you were a part.

I am not doubting that your actions (that's sounds more abrupt that I mean it to) were entirely authorised by the board, but equally were Jed's activities not subject to the same scrutiny -therefore what changed your opinion to suggest that you 'thought' the right thing was what Jed would do - suggesting you don't think that now?

But you said earlier that 'based on my knowledge that is what I thought he would do' as a Director would you not know what he was doing as he would (as you were as you rightly say) be answerable to the board - of which you were a part.

I am not doubting that your actions (that's sounds more abrupt that I mean it to) were entirely authorised by the board, but equally were Jed's activities not subject to the same scrutiny -therefore what changed your opinion to suggest that you 'thought' the right thing was what Jed would do - suggesting you don't think that now?

Please understand that after Mr Power and Ms Shah became part of the board I was side lined, not invited to board meetings and effectively pushed out.  Look back on the photos of when Mark Cooper was unveiled as manager, I was not invited to the photo opportunity on the pitch.  Now I realised I was a short term fixture and had knew my tenure would be short lived but I had a 12 month contract and this should have been honoured.

Sorry Duke, when did I say we had £5m ring fenced?  We did have funds lined up but deals change.  However I get a bit pissed when you refer to me having money ring fenced unless I actually said this, if I did then it would be in reference to possible investors, not cash in the bank.

Steve you can see emotions run pretty high and fair play to respond the way you do.
I quoted you word for word as said in the sponsors suite in front of 4 people.
I could talk about a gun incident and others but choose to keep things away from boards.
Not saying you know anything about this but you may.
You build up a picture over time.
Only you know what you did and if you can sleep at night knowing you are innocent then fair play.

Hi Duke, Well if I said that then it was in regards to what I was led to believe or had evidence of potential investors, and I am glad that you guys are both vigilant and care so much about your club, continue to be that way and maintain the same care.  I am sure those of you who spoke to me directly will know I was just trying to do a good job.  I can sleep at night as I know I did my best for the club.  Others will have to answer their own critics.   I am always available to answer any questions if anyone feels it necessary but won't be dragged into negativity about Jed, Lee or Sangita.  I hope that is OK.

Watching this affair pan out from afar...

Steve, am I right to suggest that you all saw this as a great opportunity to secure a good financial living with a subscriber base of approximately 7.5k

7.5k loyal supporters of a football club for many, many years.

You and your crew were basically given this opportunity by Blacks decision to quit it for a quid.

It's easy to say you worked dam hard...but be truthful why did you bunch get involved in the first place  ?

Was it just the money or the kudos / ego ?

Hi Robin

I was invited to join the group in order to bring my business organisation skills (and I had earned a good living from these skills prior) to the club, restructure and concentrate on the business, that is what I did.  I have no ownership or share holding.  For what it is worth I really enjoyed my time at the club and would be happy to list the significant contribution I made to the changes that had to be made.  There was nothing more in it for me than making a difference whilst earning a salary that was one quarter of that of the previous GM/CEO.  I was removed from my post without due process and I am sure anyone on here would be a bit annoyed if that happened to them, however I wish everyone all the best and hope that the club continues to move forward.

Hi Steve,

I give you ten out of ten for having the courage and making the effort to reply.

Yes, I can understand that you were given the task to review and manage the clubs business affairs when these people first had gotten involved.

My understanding is that you were also a Director of the company / club. The responsibilities of a director are far more reaching than an employee.

As Banbury said earlier, you and only you know what was really going on whilst your involvement with the club and if you can sleep easily with that ...good on you.

However, it was your personal responsibility as a Director to do everything for the good of the company / club and within the law.

As suggested, if there were dishonest dealings happening whilst you were a Board member or Director I suggest you are equally as guilty.

Steve, I really suggest that in the future you are more selective with whom you "get into bed with" as you are likely to catch even bigger virus's / crabs than these obviously were....

Good luck in the future my friend. :bye:

Honestly, Stevies replies since the judgement are fucking laughable! If you are an appointed Director of a company, you have certain legal obligations as I would hope you're aware of. As such, giving it the old 'I was sidelined' or a bit of 'it's not my fault' not to mention the classic 'I didn't know' is fucking bollocks. Along with your rights, come certain responsibilities and perhaps we should be looking at your suitability as a company director for the future?

Ironside, where did I say I didn't know or it's not my fault.  Nowhere.   I purely told the facts.  I have been and will continue to be a director of companies and am fully aware of my responsibilities, however a board is made up of a number of individuals and you need to work together to make decisions, when there is a breakdown in that team it's not as easy as you would think to continue with your duties.    Unless you know the facts of the interaction between the 4 board members then I suggest that your attack on me is uncalled for and quite nasty.

You have stated, in this thread that you were 'sidelined'. Deny?

If you were 'sidelined' and subsequently failed in your legal obligations as a company director to request and review the necessary information, and then act in the best interests of the aforementioned company, as required in order for you to fulfill your aforementioned legal obligations, you have been complacent.  therefore, you are not fit to be a company director.

Your pathetic mitigation attempts of ctrying to work with' and 'breakdown in relationships' do not absolve you from your complacency, legal obligations, or, dare I suggest, your complicity.

Can't argue with that.
As I said yesterday emotions were running pretty high. This club has a recent history of being shafted by off the field antics and fans react accordingly.
To post on a message board and be open deserves respect.
If you were the mastermind behind "My World" then that was a positive legacy.

I heard about the fight but had no idea there were any mention of guns, I would have involved the police had I have known that.  It all seems quite surreal looking back.

I have no idea about Mr Powers £300k, that must have been a deal I was not privy to.

Doesn't look like that went through, appears to have been taken over by 'TMH 2014 Ltd' instead - http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/news/local/aberdeen-oil-company-brings-to-an-end-17-year-ownership-of-english-football-club-1.740741

Peter Harris who is referred to in that article as having taken over as Chairman is listed as the sole Director of TMH 2014, who lives in Warwickshire with links to Banbury. So quite plausible that the Banbury mafia are behind it and that our Steve's involved somewhere....

It is sad to see 'Pools fans going through exactly the same process we did - first the hope, then once some history emerged - the caveated hope. Finally the same realisation once things start going downhill. Problem is, their path will probably be more like Hereford...

It really needs a David Conn etc article to go through what happened here and at Hereford to give a warning to others. Pools keep finding old Adver articles about what a great job Ged/Jed and Steve were doing.
Can't blame them, they just want to hope that things might turn out okay.

In all seriousness has anyone raised this with someone like David Conn, he is on twitter so someone could get in touch?

David Conn is pretty much full time on the Hillsborough enquiry at the moment.

Which has gone a bit Dan Brown in the last few days with Masonic conspiracies and the like.

What a shambles way to end - Really feel sorry for Hereford fans.

4:43pm

We believe that a lawyer speaking for the council said the local authority had  considerable concerns about the security of Edgar Street and "people entering the ground".

4:42pm

The registrar has made an order for the company to be wound up

4:41pm

When asked where Andrew Lonsdale was, the club's representative could not say

4:41pm

He said Andrew Lonsdale was stuck in traffic and had the evidence to prove the funds were in place

4:40pm

The representative for the club said he understood that a money transfer had been made but he had no evidence to prove that was the case

Looks like the ground reverts back to the council as the club leases it.

Ok then..

What they actually said was there was an agreement between senior cops who were masons to pin blame on individual not the cop in charge, who was also a leading Mason. The allegations were made by a  police man serving in the South Yorkshire force at the time, not by 'scousers'.

Knowing what else was covered up at that time it's frighteningly plausible

All I've read about that was that a false document is alleged to have been presented as proof of funds to the EFL as part of the FPP test.

Murrall's seems to have that too,  and added alleged HMRC fraud and also  business misrepresentations

Yeah, its an interesting read, he mentions Ticketmaster here TBF:

They are separate systems but we are working with Ticketmaster to integrate and rollout to other clubs.

You almost have to feel sorry for him.  The VAT fraud he attempted was a bog standard scam that they teach accounting students about in any Intro to Tax course.  That shower (Jed, Murrall, the Rick Wakeman look-a-like fella) always gave the impression that they were hopelessly out of their depth - & Steve's now confirmed that with his 8 stretch.  Plonker.

I'd love to have a sit down with Murrall, with a few beers, and ask him just how, exactly, he was expecting to get away with this:

Quote
The investigation was launched in March 2015 after a company reported they loaned £500,000 to Stephen Murrall, aged 49, of New Street, Shipston, on the pretence that he had a contract with the Maltese government and a letter underwriting the loan from a professional service company.

The court heard how Murrall forged these documents along with bogus bank statements and invoices, all of which were found on his computer.
