Title: Loyalty Points System
Post by: ChalkyWhiteIsGod on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, 17:53:03
Does anyone have an actual outline of the details of the loyalty points system? Seems to be mostly through word of mouth at the moment. There's a lot of questions which could do with answering.

I've worked out so far you get 15 points for a home league game and 10 for an away league game. Will these points vary for the cups? It might be a decent idea to offer some extra points for the really really unattractive cup ties? For example Macclesfield in the cup last year drew a respectable 6,408 with a tenner a ticket offer. If there was an offer of double the points for it so you get 30, would a similar fixture draw a few more perhaps? Would it make much of a difference?

Not sure if anyone has seen confirmed how long the points last for?

Is there any points available for purchasing merchandise? How much? A point for every tenner spent in store or something similar? What about sponsors stuff? Says you get points for every transaction but doesn't give details.

I noticed a 'loyalty balance' as some sort of cash back scheme (currently at £0.00 on my account for me) how does this work?

All in all the system seems to work so far. If I go Franchise Saturday I'll have my self over the 50 point mark required to be pretty much guaranteed a Chelsea ticket, even if I don't if Preston tickets go on sale shortly i'll be fine as well.

Where you find that ?

The club released a blurb the other day on how to sign up etc and from what i could make out you need a myworld membership as well as being registered for tickets ?
I followed their instructions but got nowhere on that

Yeah thats the one I read

Quote
Q: How do I get a MyWorld membership?
A: If you already have an account on our new ticketing system then please go to www.stfcmyworld.com. Click on 'tickets' and then under the 'membership' tab, click 'MyWorld Membership' to gain access to all the benefits.

I click the membership tab and am faced with a page about under 10 season tickets  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

I have exactly the same problem - registered for ticket purchases no problem, but cannot seem to get registered on the my world site - I always end up on the under 10 season ticket page.

Yep
Trouble is in the release for Chelsea tickets it states you need a myworld membership

Must think am a right dozy twat as emailed them the other day re putting my daughters points on her account as i didnt reassign them - fair play to Jason at the club who sorted that in a couple of emails

Still doesn't answer the questions I have asked or go in to any great detail. The other mentions of them have been brief referring to a loyalty system coming.

Title: Re: Loyalty Points System
Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 3, 2013, 19:11:06
I may be wrong but during the phone in it was mentioned there would be a referral scheme coming. It wasn't clarified much, it could just mean on purchases from the club, or they may use referral on other vendors products if you click through a link on myWorld.

The latter makes some sense in the it would work like quidco/topcashback. You click and purchase, the vendor pays the referral fee to the club, you get a % back (hence ' loyalty balance').

Could be totally utterly wrong on this mind. We'll see.
====
Anyway I think all we know is 10 points for away, 15 points for home. Nothing else is clear (probably not 100% decided yet).

I'm not sure how I did it but I managed to set up my account when I purchased a Crewe ticket and now have 15 points. I've asked if I can redeem my Torquay ticket stub for another 15 points!

Title: Re: Loyalty Points System

Do I need a Myworld card?

You don't need one but as a Non STH, if you do have one it saves the need to collect, print tickets. They are loaded onto the card and that is used to scan to ground entry, the same way the ST is.

Do I need a Myworld card?

Signing up to myworld will take you thru to checkout where you pay a quid for card delivery. Whether want or not. As posted above may come in handy tho.

I don't understand this at all.

The 'My Account' link tells me I have my Dad's season ticket assigned to my account but if I look under 'Match Tickets' it doesn't display anything. It doesn't show as having any loyalty points whereas I assume a ST holder would have some. The 'Membership' hyperlink just directs to http://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/tickets/U10tickets.aspx for some absurd reason.

My other email address says I have an account but need to activate it but can't.

I don't think my 1 or 2 games a season will get much in the way of loyalty points and its my natural reaction to rally against compulsory membership schemes. But if its not compulsory then fair enough and we now have an official measurement of who's the best fan in a handy points system.

Apart from maybe an fa cup final or a championship play off final and then subsequent premiership season, I'm pretty sure everyone who wants a ticket for Swindon games will get one, even this one, especially as its on telly box.

Think the loyalty thing is a good idea, but not sure how beneficial it will really be for a loyal supporter v a johnny come lately for a big cup tie.

Not just home ties though
Will come into its own with an away tie ( bristol etc ) where capacities are a lot smaller or indeed a decent away FA cup tie against a larger club

I guess the thinking is we make more money for home games so its to try and get more bums on seats at the CG for some of the less attractive matches.

Post by: @mwooly63 on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, 17:40:15
Was chatting to a mate at work today who is a chelsea ST holder
Their loyalty points awarded are 1,3 and 5
For league games 5 points would be for the likes of Hull and other less attractive games

3 pts for the likes of Palace,Fulham etc with the big games ( manure, liverpool etc ) being one point

Of course they have a limited ST list that is always oversubscribed - you can only get on it if someone leaves AND you have the right amount of loyalty points

Oh and as of this morning they still hadnt released ticket information for this game

Yeah, I guess so - Good point. I still think the 300 odd who go up to carlisle deserve more than the 6000? odd we'll have at home when we play them, though.

But as far as bums on seats, even if it encourages a handful of people it's still more money for the club. Happy days.

Some of the 300 who go to Carlisle are exiles living in the North of the country.  Then again, some people travel long distances to every home game. The system is probably as fair as you can get. There will always be hard luck stories, though.

That was kind of my point. The exiles that attend away games near their homes aren't putting themselves out anymore than someone living close to Swindon who attends only home games. Those who attend both home and away wil earn more points than either of the above groups, as they should.
Good system in my view.

Emailed Jason in the store who said they were just sorting the address labels and that the cards would go out later this week.

Good news, cheers.

Someone mentioned points for purchases online / in the store?  Is this true?  I need a new bobble hat.

I've been ordering via the web site and picking the goods up, as that way they'll know what you're purchasing, as they never ask for a MyWorld card in the shop.

It's a different type of loyalty points on purchases in the shop. Doesn't count towards match tickets, or so I've been told.
