BBC3 has basically sucked the life out of British comedy.
It is an abomination of a channel, with a commissioning brief built exclusively it seems on the basis of a very narrow Daily Mail-esque middle-age middle-management view of what they think constitutes youth culture today. A patronising and insulting underestimation of the tastes of their stated demographic that has resulted in almost nothing with any chance of standing up to the scrutiny of posterity being produced on that channel to date.

It's certainly high up on the list. Though the rant was initiated by seeing a very annoying advert on the BBC for something called 'Sweat The Small Stuff' with another smug but unfunny twenty-something hipster presenter of the sort better described than I ever could by the clip below.

Lots of People watch these shows though and for whatever reason lots of people really enjoy them.
It happens all over. Some of the best stuff in the U.S. get terrible audience figures.

Yes, the more likeable one from the Mighty Boosh, in the not exactly hilarious but spot-on satirically 'Nathan Barley' by Chris Morris and Charlie Brooker.

Nathan Barley was superb. I loved how they'd filled a series with accurate stereotypes of Brick Lane arseholes and made a good program without a single likeable character or endearing human quality in sight.
