Reed is 10x the player McEachran is.
2021-22 Reed, no question. 2022-23 Reed, broadly similar. McEachran just seems to lack fight/desire. As evidenced by how many times he fails to close down a player who either shoots or crosses the ball for an opposition goal. Technically gifted but somehow 'empty'. |

Fuck him. He was shite. Wouldn't get in our midfield now unless McEachran,Khan or Kemp were all injured
I was no fan of Reed at all but only Kemp from that list is better than him. Khan is more energetic but less technically savvy. McEachran reminds me a lot of Reed. Good on the ball, technically tidy. Doesn't go forward, creates very few chances and doesn’t score any goals. I don’t think Reed makes this team any better but doesn’t make it any worse either - it would just be exactly the same as it is now… |

Kemp has a higher ceiling but Payne vs FGR at home in the play off season when we went down to 10 men was one of the great individual performances I've ever seen. At his best he was right up there. Probably slightly tainted by being duff for most of the relegation year. |

Kemp is our only "good" midfielder and he isn't ours.
The rest are all much of a muchness in terms of ability levels (if not style). Middle of the road L2 types, the sort you have sat on the bench or used when you need a body. There is a reason we have been average for a year and bit now.
Kemp is probably on a par with Payne, but they play different roles. Payne was found out in L1 a little, I thought, be interesting to see if Kemp has the same struggles.
