Disgraceful booing from England fans at the end, both at the umpires (who were applying the laws of the game) and Clarke (who didn't have to declare and give England a target to aim at, but did.)  I know a lot of beer gets consumed at the cricket, but that was pathetic.

I agree re. the umpires, and only partly regarding Clarke, as he wanted to go gack to Oz not becoming the first Aussie side since '77 not to win a Test in England, and to give the score a bit of respectivity. He did set a challenging target, as England did need to score over 5 an over, especially as they struggled to score 111 quickly, without losing wickets. But when the match was going against him, and it was very unlikely that they were not going to bowl England out, he was in Dar's ear trying to get off regarding the light, as he certainly didn't want to lose 4-0. When he was trying to see what the light meter reading was, and not just leaving it to the unpires, was the sign of a desperate man.

I certainly don't criticize the umpires, as they could not win. If they don't follow the laws, the ICC would come down on them like a ton of bricks, and after the hard time they've had this series you certainly don't blame them for doing what they did, but common sense should always come into play.

Went day 1 and seemed to be the best day weather-wise, was shocked at the team selection in Woakes AND Kerrigan playing and bowling pies to Watson and the others that day! Think England would have won the test match had the light not interferred in chasing 227.

Thoughts on the series: I'd have taken 3-0 at the start, and it beats my 3-1 series prediction. The Aussies quite possibly would have won at Old Trafford, but aside from that England won the key moments of the series whilst not playing at our best. Ian Bell, deserved man of the series, was a class act this Summer and answered a lot of his critics. I expect England's top order to come good this Winter in Australia; it'll be nice to beat them again on their own turf  Wink (I think it will be harder to do though).

ODI's and t20s remain, can see England winning 1 and Australia winning the other format.

Aus win the first twenty20 by 39 runs
They scored 248 for 6 off their 20 overs with finch top scoring with 156 off 63 balls

England falling short 209 for 6 with Joe Root not out 90 from 49

Have a feeling a few changes will be made before the next one
Buttler too far down the order for me and feel Carberry will come in up the order

On to the next one

I'm not a fan of 20/20, but watched the highlights, what an innings by Finch, that was amazing hitting.

First time the Convicts have won a 20/20 in England, including a game v Bangladesh...their players are now more inclined towards 20/20 and playing in the IPL, than being too worried about Test cricket. It's understandable, load of moneyb available for having a bit of a swing and a laugh, rather than the rigorous examination of Test cricket.
