Chin up. Lots of things to be positive about.
Just take a second to reflect on how far P’boro finished ahead of us last season.

Cambridge all over again.

Yep, we certainly didn't deserve to lose that night either.
Oh well encouraging signs and a good performance.

Seems like we held our own tonight and coulda even scored another. Very decent squad/side are pboro so lots of positives to take into Saturday. RHM took his goal brilliantly.

Ghost of Tijane Reis missing pens against pboro in cup pen shoots outs continues to haunt us. Fuck you Tijane.

No we didn’t. Mind you, I was walking out with my son and I said we’ll do well this season, and we did. Hopefully, it’s the same tonight.

Seen people saying we looked fit. I'll take that over fatigued.

Also sounds like a good debut for Mahoney.

If we can play like that most weeks we will do well in League 2. It may be that the Plymouth game wasn't just a pre-season performance in a game where the opposition weren't that bothered.

Key features from tonight:
Defence looked solid, the 3 CBs all had good games
Wing Backs looked dangerous, both put in decent crosses and were confident on the ball
Midfield looked a little lightweight, but full of flair
Austin was anonymous for most parts
Mahoney had nothing to do for 94 minutes and then pulled off two blinding saves
Town were the better team for large periods
Flynn IN
One million percent better than last season

Some good feedback from this game. Pleasing to hear. Let's get the squad finished this week and smash this season

Darn. Really good effort.
Undone by superior technique in the shoot out.
Our record must be pretty abysmal since penalties were introduced.
And it's over a number of years covering many different Town sides.
Very strange.

In addition to those mentioned at half time, Khan put a really good shift in & Brewitt very good as well, unsurprisingly.

Hopefully those that haven't seen the team in action yet will be pleasantly surprised on Saturday.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

But… we did (I think) win the important one in the Anglo Italian Cup in 91/2 v Oxford, based on VHS memories…

Really encouraging to hear we played that well. Some much needed positivity. Let’s hope it translates into 3 points on Saturday. Flynn could even be in that rare group of Town managers to have his name actually sung by the fans…

Many positives, especially in defence. Bodes well for the season but, yeah, we must have the worst penalty shootout record of any team, except perhaps England

Did they release any attendance figures inc away fans? Sounds like a good effort all round with plenty of positives.
