Danny Boyle nailed it! Really enjoyed that. But can't we make the Athletes run so we can get to the torch lighting.

Pretty stunning indeed, the visuals and music are a little bit special. I even laughed at the Rowan fucking Atkinson bit.
Boys are going to see Brazil at Old Trafford on Sunday, and we've also got the golden tickets - Korea against Gabon at Wembley, plus some volleyball, hockey and a bit later, horse stuff at the paralympics. Love to grab one or two more bits, so who knows?
This is going to be awesome.

They had a track on earlier that sounded like Underworld - Rez, but wasn't actually it. It makes me wonder whether they're making some music especially, whether there's a remix I don't know of or whether Underworld didn't write the melody. Hmm, as if anyone cares or knows!

To be honest I haven't shown much interest in the build up but think tonight's opening ceremony has been very impressive. The stadium looks amazing and I'm now looking forward to seeing it being used for the different events.

This is fucking great. Sat next to two Americans and through all their 'Oh you're such an adorable little country' bullshit I still felt and feel massively proud.
Can't wait for the ending.

I like the fact there was no way to compete with Beijing, so we didn't. Other opening ceremonies - conventional, dull. We did it our way.
I reckon not much of the rest of the world will get Boyle's masterpiece. But fuck 'em. We paid for it so we'll do it our way and if only the Brits get it then tough shit.

Comoros, a country i've never, ever heard of. My Geography is pretty decent too. You learn something new every day.
Apart from wheeling out 204 bloomin' countries it's been a very impressive opening ceremony.

Millwall have a Comoros international. Mind you, Nadjim Abdou was French when I saw him play for Plymouth.

Jimmy Abdou dived and rolled around to get Dougie sent off a couple of years back if I remember correctly......the cunt.
