We were pants, plain and simple.
For my money we lacked any real cut and thrust in midfield and a general lack of urgency.
A bit more guts than the Gills game but a lack of quality overall. You had to feel for Curo and Peacock. Scraps again.

Mark - great listening to your commentary, so much better than ed the twat You were so obviously thoroughly depressed by the whole outcome, a true town fan. i wonder how differently things might have been though had it not been for that individul error that lead to their first at a time when we were generally bossing the game.

I was ashamed of my team.Gurney will never win me over.Criminally gave the ball away time and time again. If we have to rely on that partnership up front we are in serious shit.Only bright spot AGAIN was CCP.I really think at the moment he is our best defender, midfielder AND forward. He 's got to start. In the middle of midfield if I had my way.Yes we may have kept it to 2 but that's because Southend never got out of 2nd gear 2nd half-and never needed to!

gurney sadly was the only cunt who seemed to have a glimpse of a clue. it's just a massive shame he's got none of the skill to actually make his grand plans come off.
he was the first person to get space for every throw, it's just a shame that no one else seemed to have the awareness he did. especially as he's actually a pap footballer

Jenks is past it
Gurney was awful
We created nothing
I dont remember their keeper having to make one save
It only stayed 2-0 because Southend didnt need to get out of 2nd gear 2nd half.
We didnt look like scoring
CCP was our best player
But....hey look on the bright side we have an 'undisclosed' fee in the bank from Swansea that will make it all better right, thats cracking business....who gives a fuck if we fucking go down....we got money for Fallon.....and isnt that what really matters money....

Jack Smith back next week. Jenks didn't do much for me last night.
Gurns had one of those games where everything he tried failed to come off. I actually think he's returned a better player in general but sadly last night was one of those nights - maximum points for trying though.
We didn't have anyone in the middle who looked like they could break forward and threaten with either a killer ball or shot. We desperately need more from our midfield in the attacking third. For Christ's sake someone take a risk and shoot!! Anyone remember Stockport (H)?!!
I thought Smith looked quality when he came on. Nothing fancy and very efficient with the ball. Looks a touch out of shape but will no doubt be pitched in from the start sooner rather than later.
On reflection there is more hope than I suggested last night but we are putting a huge amount of pressure on ourselves to win the home games. We really can't afford too many slip-ups at home now.

I give Gurney"nil" for trying-he looked totally disinterested to me.I think DV85 was right-Gurney's got his contract and is now back to his previous self-thats how it looked to me last night anyway
