A couple of points from this discussion

Jenkins is a "solid pro" - No he isn't, he's a nice enough bloke but since joining us from Peterborough he hasn't done much to better the side at all.  Looked shit on Saturday as he did against Scunthorpe.

A phone call to Honda blah blah blah - just because the employ people in this town doesn't mean our friendly japs are gonna waste a million or two on STFC.  Also don't you think this has been tried before.

As for Iffy, I just don't see the point in getting rid, starting from scratch again would be suicide.

Money? according to some fella/clown in front of me on saturday we're paying them all £100k a year at least, "see him (jenks) he's on £170k, Roberts £190k" I nearly died laughing!!! Migz got taken off and he could hardly say his name, but was saying "that's the last game you've played for this club" whinging all match, and didn't seem obviously drunk, just very deluded.

Twats - Iffy in

1 win, 4 draws and a loss with the squad he has is alright, and we can't be to quick to attack them after the loss to Barnsley.

Iffy's doing the best job he can, and we can't afford anyone else

Iffy In!

I'm not so sure about iffy now, and its not just saturdays result and performance.

I though his team selection was a mess, no creativity in midfield at all apart from a below par migz.

No-one from the midfield even tried to support fallon. Roberts and Bouazza were miles away from rory most of the time, and offered him no support. Sure the players were shit, but I dont think we ever really stood much of a chance of a decent performance with the tactics and personel deployed from the start.

seemed more like 443, then looked like we had 4 up front second half the way we were playing.

4-4-3 and we still didn't win

We need balance in the team.  I didnt, and dont see the point in playing two pacey strikers on the wing.  Its like putting Henry on the wing.  Sure he can do a good job, but why put him there when he plays better upfront.

We need to play a 4-4-2 with a creative midfielder -  dare I say it,   an Igoe.  Swindon are lacking a person who can deliver quality in the final third.

Its not as if we are a million miles worse then most teams in this division.  Simply the chances the oposition create are better - and hence why they score more goals.   Barnsley was a classic example.  They didnt outplay Swindon.  They simply created a couple of decent chances which they scored.  Swindon only created half chances

what is the point in getting in a non league manager? iffy out? give the bloke a chance for gods sake!

We need stability not our 3rd manager in a season.  The next 3 games will tell us whats going to happen for our season, a new manager wont keep us up.  If a new manager could guarentee us 1st division safety then i would be right there calling for a new manager but it wont.  Lets stay on the iffy rollercoaster and seewhat happens at the end of the season and then decide.

We will stay up, well i hope Cheesy  Cheesy

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think it’s a question of replacing the manager or even questioning his position at this point.  At the end of the day we have appointed a young manager whose experience outside of playing is two short spells under Paul Merson and Andy King.  That’s hardly an apprenticeship to shout about.

We can’t expect Iffy to work miracles and not make mistakes after all its part of the learning curve.  As much as I wanted the big man to work wonders it does look as if he’s going to struggle and after Saturday can anyone see evidence of anything different?

It’s far from the managers fault mind and it’s important to make that clear he inherited a situation that may well be above and beyond anyone.

To go full circle it’s perplexing that so many clubs take such a gamble appointing the cheap option when it comes to a new manager.  Generally at any given level all but the top tier of managers generally earn a fair bit less than their players.  It’s strange then that such an important fundamental part of a club and its very future and possibly its existence is decided on the cost of labour.

Not that given our situation we could have attracted a successful manager far from it but there are both successful managers in the lower leagues and vastly experienced assistants and coaches who may be persuaded to take the step-up to management.

Unfortunately I can’t see much changing as things are.  There’s always hope and given how open the league is there’s still a chance it may happen but with each passing week it’s looking more unlikely to me.  I’d perhaps like to see a Steve Coppell re-run with an experienced head coming in to lend a hand and provide a springboard to success.

It’s a dangerous game mind.  Not only is there the risk of completely undermining the current gaffer but it has to be someone who can support the current manger without taking over completely.  Not an easy job.

Either way we all have to keep rock solid behind the big man until we're safe and hopefully beyond.

Igoe was the worst player, he never tried wait a minute.....i see some of the players now are doing exactly the same.
