Look at this link. Read the unbelievble shit that has happened. Then right at the bottom "Toll: "One person drowned in Kenya".  How can that be part of the disaster? I bet more people drowned in Kenya that day.

Just watched some videos and its amazing. Have we heard from Bankok Red?

Horrific I still haven't herd from a lass I met when I was backpacking out there.

Not spoken to her for an age and I know she had moved but I have no idea where to.

Have blasted her a couple of emails now and no reply, that said she is always crap at replying so who knows.

Met a few sound chaps in Phuket a Danish chap who was sound as a pound and owned our hotel and took us out drinking for free until we dropped.

No way of getting hold of them just hope they are all safe and well.

I think he was the other side on Koh Samui which was unaffected as far as I know.

Mate of mine, well more my mates uncle was in Phuket but he was fine.  Got woke up in the morning grabbed some clothes and legged it up into the mountain.  The chap whos hotel it was had a maountain appartment so he put all of his guests up in there and let them party on down over Christmas.

When the earthquake happened could people feel the rumble or was it too far under water?

Not sure the impression I got was that most people didn't notice at all until it was to late.

The pictures of the people on the beach said it all scrambling to warn their family in the sea who hadn't noticed the fuck off 10ft wave behind them.

Have you seen the video camera footage from some chap on the hotel roof.  The hotel staff are going frantic to get the video camera ghouls on the ground into the hotel and they are just standing there filming it.

They get most of them in but one or two get caught.

That's what they say about Tsunamis. If you can see a big fuck off wave there is no time to escape it! They travel too quickly

I dont think the actual wave as it comes in looks that scarey. Id probably be one of the idiots who ran towards it.

no I agree. Big wave, but I would have just surfed my way to freedom. but if it sucks you out to sea, thats when the trunks are filled.

There was a guy on the news who did ride the wave but almost crashed into a metal post. Had to ditch the board before being slammed into a brick wall!
