Who’d a thought Drinan would turn into a goal machine.

Excellent first half and only a "mixed" second half.  I think we have to also bear in mind that Barrow looked poor and pretty toothless up front.  The signs for STFC are however "top half".  A couple of months should give us a feel for how many L2 frontrunners we need to reckon with and their relative quality.

Whether we will be seriously challenging for anything and what we may be challenging for (autos or POs only) will of course then need to await the critical loan recalls and window transfers during January.

But the squad depth for top half is there for now.  Will we now, for once, back up optimism with 3 points this Saturday v Harrogate?

It's the most awkward stand you could imagine.  Visibility is appalling...but I'm sure it was a cost effective way to quickly add much needed capacity.

It can't be any worse than where they used to put the away fans in the corner behind the goal, the year I went you couldn't even see the goal at that end from the stand. On ethe plus side you couldn't see much of Conroy fucking up with his ball playing!

Its possibly one of the worse grounds I have ever been to and I'm including non league ones in that!

Unlikely ever to venture that far out of the way myself.

Love hearing the descriptions of the ground.

Also from the excellent Jonathan Smith in the commentary who was making the ground out to be quite a hostile one in more ways than one.  A difficult journey even from Preston.  I think many of us have at least seen for ourselves on video the rain relentlessly sweeping in off the coast and leaving us to imagine the windy gusts bamboozling our boys in a way to put our own wind tunnel to shame.

Quite.

I was absolutely convinced we didn't have enough goals in us (pre Palmer), and that he and Glatzel wouldn't chip in enough.

Early days, but isn't that 5 in 3 games from them? Drinan's finishing has been excellent.

I love being proven wrong!
