Bristol City are set to appoint Gerhard Struber as their new head coach.
The former Barnsley, Cologne, Red Bull Salzburg & New York Red Bulls manager will be confirmed this week.
This was indeed confirmed on Friday. Martin Paterson gets the Notts County job.
Wow for a club the size of County thats massively underwhelming. A 25% win rate but a 60% loss rate from 20 games at Burton in his only previous managerial job. County fans very upset with thier owners for appointing him.

I think the data led and technical board methods they spoke about further down in the announcement probably put off most managerial candidates. On the face of it, the concept they’re explaining isn’t different to most clubs in terms of pre and post match group meetings but they seem to be proposing a further level of that and involvement of the technical board which I assume most managers wouldn’t appreciate. Unless I’ve misinterpreted what they were describing. I think the owners have a strong data background so I assume it stems from there.

You could be right there UTR but at the end of the day all the data is meaningless if a manager cant get his team winning games.
I think (especially in the lowest 2 leagues) managers can overuse statistics and analysis but if the players don't perform on the pitch its all totally meanless.
Last season under Ollie we got back to basics, chased the ball and pressed the opposition constantly, this made teams commit errors which we benefitted from, as other teams benefitted from our errors earlier int he season.
Just a solidly performing, mostly average league 2 quality team, who play as a unit and for each other can win this league IMO.

There is some scope for a massive CoI there if he does well as isn't he well in with the Macclesfield Owner who could get promoted to the NL if they do well next season.....
