Yes absolutely.
I imagine not getting to own the stadium / land is a deal breaker. It’s the clubs main (only?) asset. The only way anyone is ever going to make any sort of financial gain out of the club.
…but as you’ve said on the flip - it will keep away those who will want to buy the football club only as a means to get their hands on the stadium / land.

Have to preface this by saying this is all purely hypothetical talk between friends.
We wondered if the 50/50 deal for the stadium with the fans group, as much as it’s a great piece of business for us fans, is a potential sticking point in the mind of potential new buyers of the club. If the wanted fees being banded about are close to what the clubs actually being valued at by the owner, then that’s a heavy price and at that price point, would knowing that you can’t tie up the stadium 100% into your own ownership as well for the club be something to consider?
Another way of looking at this is that the JV have to approve any sale of the land. They can still sell it. It is simply safeguarded so that we only sell if there is a better alternative to move to.

Given the extended lease and the terms of that lease, it would surprise me if the ground situation had a material impact on a buyers decision. The real crux is the debt position, the ownership situation and the potential for internal deals to materialise when doing due diligence.

I would imagine a potential buyer could offer to buy a larger percentage off the JV, which would go to the Trust members for ballot - think that's what happened when the Couhigs bought Wycombe.

Yup
Hasn’t stopped them from having a modicum of success and a decent stadium. Where’s those Russian Oligarchs when you need one.

I always look at clubs especially recently that get taken over and wonder why the new owners picked them and did they look at Swindon
Surely we are an ideal proposition - they must look at us and think we can do something there - especially with ground redevelopment and ideal way to make money done right - but then they probably let their interest known and run a mile when they find out what Clem wants and the hangers on that are lurking around

More red flags than a Soviet Union Mayday parade.

You’re spot on- offers have been made I believe but the issue has been the asking price probably partly driven by the dodgy hangers on
