People have home phones? Must be about 12 years since I've ever used one, I just assumed no one else did!

Big fan of microwaves too. I tend to do big batch meals in the slow cooker these days and use the microwave to heat them up. Can see why people would live without them though.

Ive spent 3 months on site for 40 - 50 hours a week.  A microwave has been vital.  As has the toaster.  A steady diet of soup and scrambled eggs with occasional portions of meals from home has kept me from spending a fortune at the petrol station on shit packaged sandwiches and ready meals.

I knew I was doing something wrong.

I left my sandwich maker at the test centre I was managing.  My successor was making full english breakfasts in it.  Should have taken that as well.

You heat beans in the microwave? You absolute heathen. Next you'll be telling me you do scrambled eggs in the microwave too.

Ours mostly only gets used for defrosting bread.

I have no use for a home phone. Been without one for years now.
Oh hell no. I use a microwave for a lot of things. Scrambled eggs is not one.

This, my wife batch cooks lots of stuff  then freezes it and we reheat in a microwave as its faster, better and does not dry the food out.

Theres a lot of snobbery in this thread about microwaves.

Well, no.  You could describe the cooking process as the bit that actually makes a chip, whereas the preparation merely creates a cold sliced potato.  Or, you could have a high end Air Fryer that gets the potatoes out and slices them up before neatly arranging them within itself.  So there.

You'll be a heathen in the US, what with chips being crisps! They'll say...

"You cook chips (crisps) in an air fryer, Rob?!"

Bought my Mrs an Alexa globe thingy for her birthday back in January. Fucking amazing sound for such a small piece of electronic wizardry. Disappointed I cannot get any BBC radio stations on it though.

you can get BBC stations on Alexa. Or are you not in the UK?

"alexa play radio 4"

plays through bbc sounds.

you may need to activate the BBC sounds skill in the Alexa app
