Grimsby were unbelievably poor - easily the worst side I’ve seen so far.

We never looked like conceding - and that doesn’t happen very often.

Looks like it’s going to boil down to the Jan window.

Poor second half, but that's really down to Grimsby never putting us under any sort of pressure. They just couldn't build anything coming forward, and wasted every attack. MoM to Yates not just for the goals, but for his hard work all over the pitch.

Our record against lower half teams this season (all of current squad influenced) or a select record going back 100 years (handfull of current squad influenced 1 game)?

I’m struggling to decide which stat is more relevant

Impeccable logic

Not confident, based purely on our track record there.  Shades of Cheltenham.

Hopefully I'll be wrong.  I usually am.

Bradford  beat Newport today and stay 5 points behind us with a game in hand, and still all they can ramble on about on their forum is Eoin Doyle.
There's more goals in him yet !!,  for us !!.

Winning 3-0 at Grimsby is a brilliant result.
Swindon teams in the past have for whatever reason (complacency, not being prepared to battle hard enough possibly) been beaten there, even when the apparent merits of the teams (current form, league position) have suggested we ought to get a point or better.
Let’s enjoy the win and being top of the table, and continue to accumulate points. With the squad we have (I know January may alter that but we have all expended a lot of energy on that subject) this could be a special season. Also let’s give credit to RW, Jewell and the other scouts whose judgement identified the players we have brought in, and to LP for backing their judgement.

Still 14 points to go to reach the magic 53. No room for complacency next week against Oldham is bound to be a tester because in 1958 they beat us at home on a Saturday in December and .... (can't be arsed, make up some random pessimism yourselves)

Oldham at home next week. That should be another 3 points *touches wood*

Hopefully we'll extend the gap at the top a little more because we have some tougher games coming after that.
