How big is your outlook mailbox?

It suggests that I have 41.3G free of 49.5G so 8.2G I assume...

Have you tried defragging the ethernet ram bus?

I quite honestly have no idea what you are talking about, that just looks like a random collection of words to me?  Cheesy

Oh that's been on the agenda for most of the week, thankfully I had a trip to Cardiff (4 hours each way) yesterday to keep me out the office and calm me down!

Having problems with my Greek internet connection - line keeps dropping randomly. Not surprisingly, COSMOTE have tested the line and all is well. My inkling is the router.

Now, would it make much difference if I reverted to Ethernet connection instead of WiFi?

If the routers wifi signal is the problem then, probably, if the router itself is at fault, probably not.

It could be the microfilters, make sure there is one in every telephone orofice, does the problem occur when somebody is using the land line? if so then it is definately the microfilter, if not then it could be a signal strength issue, does it drop off when sat right next to the router?

If it still disconnects then try hard wiring it first as its far more stable than any wifi anyway.

Test it by replacement, replace the microfilters first, then hard wire it, then replace the router.

It’s a brand new router - only installed a couple of days ago. My previous internet was OK but had a daily download limit of 6GB so I changed - that was via Ethernet cable and essentially mobile internet.

The new one is via the telephone line.

If the problem is just the actual line then I’m fucked.

Newly coonected Broadband can take a few days to settle to its operating speed, try connecting it by cable see if the problem persists.

If the problem carries on for more than 4 or 5 days when the cable is connected then there is a fault in the router, I have had several brand new routers that were faulty on installation, its not unknown.

Wired is still easily the fastest most reliable way to connect to a router if it is possible, so try that first.

As JJ says just because the router is new doesn't mean its good. Horlocks sounds like cable to me If its a cat 5 and not fibre which is likely, squirrels love em.

I’ve just installed an app called Speedify which boosts speeds and supposedly helps against internet drops.

The problem is it’s VPN based and although I can legally view iFollow in Greece the VPN is blocking the opening of the STFC app completely.

Have iFollow managed to outlaw the use of VPNs now?

Yes pretty much, they have blocked all commercially available VPNs.
