On a completely unrelated note, those jackets are pretty smooth...

Why is our game always one of the last to finish.
I noticed this a long time ago....my theory being that because the football powers have it in for us, the refs are told to add on extra minuites when we're winning. Most games seem to get 3 or 4 mins, quite often we get 6 or 7. Tuesday being a prime example.

I missed the fact Jordan Stewart has been called up to the Ireland U21's next month for games v Scotland (5th Sept) and Iceland (8th Sept). Not ideal.

3 isn't it (Kassim, Luongo and Brad Smith last year).

Yes it is 3, but apparently the FL have changed the rules regarding youth call ups.

Excellent set of results given that most of us agree we are not the finished article.
I happy enough at the minute anyway...

First half was dull but we passed the ball well without looking threatening. Neither keeper had anything to do.
Second half was better, Byrne drove forward and slipped in Robert who finished with aplomb. After that it was a bit backs to the wall, Southend missed a sitter and Vigoroux made 2 excellent saves to keep us in it. The ref played 9 minutes of injury time for some reason but we held out.
I was impressed with the work rate of the whole team in very hot conditions. The midfield were excellent, Traore probably my man of the match although Vigoroux deserves plaudits for his saves.
Sadly Nothing really came off for Smith today despite working hard. Miles came on to a here's welcome!
New songs for Robert and Vigoroux very welcome!

we dug that one out! vigoroux excellent,Traore and Kasim superb in the middle.Williams looked shaky in the first half but defended heroically in the second.Thompson not missed at all.Smith worked tirelessy and did his fair share of defensive duties but couldnt seem to hold the ball up in the later stages.Byrne surging through the middle scared the living daylights out of them and did brilliantly for the goal.Robert is class and will be the next to go after byrne,ee do manage to unearth a few gems.Turnbull was a rock.Good crowd from us but, bloody hell, they should have beaten us.
