Two very ordinary sides.

True. But Hodgson is clearly picking a team that he wants to stick together for a few years, which is exactly what people have been calling for. As we've learnt at Town, it takes time to build a side with a number of new youngsters. We need to give players like Stones, Sterling, Delph, Wilshere and Oxlade-C time to grow into a team. Hopefully this qualifying group and some friendlies against decent opposition will be the time where that happens.

For now, a 2-0 away win where we really should have scored more will do for me.

Can't complain about the result, the Swiss didn't look like the same team from Brazil. England did.

Thought we were OK and probably a bit better than that.  Bit dodgy at the back but lots of options going forward.  Lob Theo Walcott and one or two others back into the equation when fully fit and maybe there is room for cautious optimism.

Most of us said to give the youngsters a chance so I guess we should accept that it may take time to move forward but I would have settled for last night's performance and result.

Something I thought about earlier...the England XI plus subs and the youth academy they were from (in case of complicated ones I took their club at 16)

Hart- Shrewsbury Town

Baines - Wigan
Jones - Blackburn Rovers
Cahill - Aston Villa
Stones - Barnsley

Wilshere - Arsenal
Delph - Leeds
Henderson - Sunderland

Welbeck - Man Utd
Rooney - Everton
Sterling - Liverpool

Milner- Leeds
Jagielka - Sheffield Utd
Lambert - Blackpool

Makes you question what those multi-million pound academies are doing, doesn't it? Especially Chelsea's considering the talent they've hoovered up and then squandered.

I'm quite sure I saw Mr. Webb in a crowd shot after one of the goals.

Sterling was a QPR youngster
