Taken from a Bristol city forum, quote below is whether to buy tickets for the Arkells or Straton Bank. It seems that the actions of some of their fans against Rovers what not a one off
Let's just all turn up and take the place over like we usually do & take the pi55 and watch them crapping themselves in their cup final. After all they've only been playing the gas recently, now for the real team from Bristol

Got chased by city when they came here years ago. They'd been allowed the townend and were kept in after the game(cannot remember the result ) Anyway, a few Swindon lads had gathered on broad street and as my friends and I used to walk that way to the bus station we hung about too. Their lot came around the corner and ran at us. Obviously as a 15-16 year old I ran into the back alleys. A few of our lot stood and got slapped and it turned into small running battles around the bus station. Think it was a Sunday game.
Sorry to those who don't like talk of violence but tough shit eh

I don't mind the old stories talking about violence, it seems like you all had a fun old time back in the 'good old days' when opposing fans beat each other up to their hearts content, but all Topcat does is talk about recent stuff, it's just boring and stupid, and slightly embarassing (possibly because he's a troll). That 'pwopa nawty' era of the game is in the past. Anyone who goes to a football match now just to get in a fight is a fucking knobber who needs to grow up.

That 86/87 was hardly fun Didnt worry when they invaded the pitch as the old bills horses soon put paid to that Was after the game We were penned in that alley behind the away end by the old bill who were about 5 deep while the horses chased the slavetraders up and down the green opposite Didnt stop em lobbing bricks into us tho - some young kid copped one in the face real close to me Eventually they escorted us all to the train station - every side street you could see coppers and shitty having running battles Every Z hire van was windowless - most of the riot vans were without windows too Worst part is we drove so had to get a cab all the way back to the ground for the car Yeah they were'nt all good old days

so wrong mate I have no interest in seeing these yobs ruin our great game, my points are highlighting the idiots that need to grow up and if you've ever been to a match 30 years ago when crowd trouble was rife you will know how scary it was and with the same thing still going on is the reason that I wont go anymore
