What I find annoying is that he brings him on and switches to 442 when we go behind, basically admitting that is our best option for getting a goal. Well we need goals from the outset. It's been said before, but Paolo's teams always went for it, even if they didn't always get the win.
How many goals have we scored after he's made that change? For all those saying KMac isn't picking the best players - maybe he is and they just aren't good enough? Possible Ritchie elevated this from being a mid table side. MacDonald can only pick from what's there. |

Fair enough, you have both seen far more of him than I have. The main argument against 4-4-2 for me is the fact we were always pretty much lop-sided with Ritchie playing out wide, without him we're reliant on Roberts and L Rooney, neither of whom are up to it. I don't think 4-5-1 is the answer either so not really sure where to go from there...

You could always follow me  It is all about confidence....for all his faults Paolo was very good at installing this. When i see K Mac i see Danny Wilson......not slating them but they get bogged down with tactics and the such and when these fail they dont have option 2 which under Paolo was...........PASSION. |

I'm concerned about next season because MacDonald is in a situation now where he can't win over the fans at all; if by some miracle we do get promoted, serious doubts will be raised over his abilities due to the fact we've scraped over the line and if we miss out - as is looking very likely - then he's failed to capitalise on a strong position.
I think he deserves a chance next season come what may but I feel like I'm in a very small minority right now.
and finally, this forum has become pretty fucking unbearable lately.

He did have the benefit of Matt Ritchie though. Maybe that's why he scarpered once MR got sold, he knew the rest of the players weren't good enough to get Paolo another promotion. |
