1st away game ive managed to get to for ages.....wow! The STFC fans were fantastic - so brilliant to be in amongst it.  Players were immense too - especially Thompson who recovered from his error to play really well.  Jay Mc makes some high profile errors, but overall worked pretty well down the left.  Alan Mac, Ferry, Ward were outstanding, and Foderinghams save from the Clarke header amazed their strikers as well as all of us.

Best game ive been to for quite a while.

Fantastic away day.

New stadium to tick off, 3000+ town fans, new manager, good performance, dominant in possession and chances, back from a goal down to win in the last minute, great spirit and unity between players and fans. Clarke doesn't score. Doesn't get much better than that.

In terms of players, ubiquitous wonder save from Wes, ubiquitous two missed one-on-ones from Williams. McCormack showed he could play in midfield today and Miller showed how far he is ahead of Navarro in that particular pecking order. Ferry outstanding as always. Luke Rooney looks bright and should not have been ostracised by Paolo. Other Rooney also decent when on. Flint won everything in the air. Ward back to his best without the weight of managing on his shoulders.

Get in a couple of loans (CM, CF and LB to compete with Mceverly, who looks our one likely liability at the moment) and we've got a great chance.

I've been to two away games this season. Stoke, and today. Last minute winners will NEVER get boring.

We pissed them, and but for better finishing (WILLIAMS), should have had about 5 or 6.

Special mention to the two CB's and two CM's. Ward and Flint dealt with everything thrown at them, and Miller and Mcormack got amongst them well. Mcormack MOM for me.

Only downside was Mcevilly's performance. Solid enough defensively, but far to wank with the ball at feet. Fortunately for him he was beaten to the accolade of worst player on the pitch by Wesley Snipes in the coventry defence. Worst Professional footballer I ever did see. Not suprised at all to see him involved in the fuck up for our goal (Murphy will be dissappointed when he see's that).

Fans were awesome in terms of noise. Fantastic turn out, Fantastic day, and so glad I was a part of it.

Just back from the game going to sink a few in the Five Bells Pint good game tremendous support from us today, had to laugh before the game Coventry fans tried to raid the pub(longford Engine) and did not realize there was about 600 STFC fans in the pub the police had to help them get away
Back to the game the lads never give up, support was great Alan Mac for me MOM Both Rooneys played well when they came on

Excellent...had a couple of beers in the Greyhound before driving down and parking by the M6....found myself with Herthab and enjoyed going spazzo with him at death...

Excellent stuff...thought we had fluffed it with the chances we missed....but we kept going and ground them down....

Great start for K Mac...

Pretty much how I saw it.  Thoroughly deserved & for the 2nd time (Tranmere) Wes has played his part with an outstanding save.

Cracking atmosphere as well

Right where to start.

The beginning. Wrong team selection, when I saw the team I thought all sorts. Wing backs, 5 in midfield, diamond. Playing Simon Ferry right wing was a pretty stupid idea in my opinion. His game isn't remotely winger like and he spent too much of the game too narrow, more on that in a bit.

Doesn't seem right going to watch a L1 game in a massive fancy stadium complex and spending pre match walking over to water to end up in a pretty tidy casino with bars and restaurants around it!!!

First 2 minutes were a disaster, we went from having a corner to being 1-0 down just like that, horrible mistake from Thompson.

After that it was all us, well certainly with regards to possession anyway. Although for the most part it seemed like we played a good number of decent passes before we got the ball to Roberts to not beat his man or worse yet we worked it back to McEvley who would give the ball straight back to Coventry.

Williams troubled their big lump 5 at centre back and twice in the first half he's done him, twice he's caught Williams who has stumbled and carried on (could have easily and probably justifiable gone down and got him sent off) first one the keeper comes out and all Williams has to do is roll it past him, he does but also roles it wide. Horrendous miss and no excuse. Second one a bit unlucky as its come back off the inside of the post and the keeper has done well to block Williams rebound effort.

Could have been going in 2-1 to the good at half time.

Second half was much the same, lots of possession but no penetration. Both sides more likely to kick the ball off the pitch then score a goal. The time wasting from Coventry was criminal.

Then 2 things changed the game. Firstly McCormack went down with what looked like a head injury but the ref allowed play to continue with Coventry on the attack. During the break in play the Coventry fans in the corner next to us gave us some stick and that kind of ignited the Town fans with seemed to lift the team.

As much as I thought KMacs team selection was wrong, his subs were spot on. Luke Rooney came on for the never a right winger Simon Ferry and added a lot. Actually having two wingers gave us a lot more width and stretched Coventry and unlike Roberts, Rooney was much more intent on getting the ball into the box, his corners were a lot better also.

Adam Rooney came on and we stretched them some more as they did the Town classic of getting deeper and deeper.

Anyway, we finally got a goal (which seemed in probable 10 mins earlier) as Flint came back geeing up the away fans as we bellowed we score when we want - I expected us to get a second, hopefully in the injury time that Coventry created with their time wasting. Anyway we got a corner, I said to Bennett that Flint was going to head it, he didnt but Darren Ward thankfully did.

Then the last 5 minutes Coventry chased it by pumping up to Clarke which resulted in nothing.

Good start but I never want to see Ferry play right wing again...

also, Whits would know as he was near them, what was the song that your section was singing when they were jumping up and down etc. looked ace fun

think you're referring to the continental favourite 'that's the way we like it'. Great footy song.

We were so much better than them today, could have been 4 or 5. Only Mceveley was cack, everyone else were good. Great atmosphere for the whole second half - brilliant.

tbf Kmac only turned up yesterday so I am not surprised he got the starting 11 a little wrong, but it was important that he didn't just pick the same team as the last few weeks.

Any mug can pick a team from our squad, the sign of a good manager is being able to change a game, which he did, so you have to give him the credit for the 3 points.

Although Williams scored today, can we still prioritise a goalscorer please?

I'll tell you who would have grabbed themselves a hat trick today, Paul Benson.

He's exactly the sort of player we are missing, a 6 yard box poacher.

Think we also need a right winger and left back in ASAP.

To be fair to K Mac I can understand his thinking in playing Ferry right midfield, Coventry packed the middle of the park and playing a narrow game would help to combat that and help us to keep the ball... Like others have said though, bringing on the Rooney(s) at the correct time was vital to changing the game, which is the mark of a good manager, concise decision making...

bit of a shame that the man you so ardently adore cast him aside then
