You know that it's the referee who calls off games rather than the club don't you?
This is turning into a conspiracy that Dostovesky would be proud of
I bet they had the sprinklers on...

It does seem a little odd, that a game on the eastern side of the country should be the only one off for rain, when the eastern side the country is effectively in a rain shadow, cast by the west. I'd imagine Hearn wanted it gone so slipped the ref a some VIP tickets for the Ally Pally and a brown bag of cash, so the ref could take his missus to the Boxing Day sales at some odious shopping outlet in Essex.

Probably the same local ref, doing a two for the price of one offer. Doubtless Dons players wanted a good piss up over Christmas and didn't fancy it.

We already have a league fixture that day, home to Carlisle. It'll be a Tuesday night.

Can't really believe the game is off for any other reason than the pitch
Traditionally Boxing Day games attract one of a club's best attendances of the year so why would they willingly give up the extra income?

Kerry is right though, it doesn't make sense. Why deliberately have it postponed when the match will then likely be played on a freezing night with a piss poor attendance? Not exactly the logical thing to do.

Surely wait until today then to make a decision? Give the game every chance of going ahead, just seems stupid calling it off more than 24 hours in advance

Is that right? Not quite. Match was postponed until 1515 and called off at 1510
