Aren't their 19 players in that photo, the same as last year??
Evans,O Hanlon, Smith, Nicolau, Ifil, Jenkins, Whalley, Fallon, Thorpe, Miglioranzi, Cureton, Shakes, Bulman, Reeves, Nicholas, Lapham, Comyn-Platt, Roberts and Pook
In 2003/2004 the photo included Stevenson, Herring and Young who played about 2 games between them.... so squad size is basically the same. It is very small but we have coped the last couple of years and done very well only confirming how well King has done with our tiny budget.

IMO that squad is pretty shit and we are in for a disappointing season. I can't see us being relegated but it could be a struggle. The lack of a tough midfield worries me. I think we'll score goals but it's the other end that shitting me up.
I hope i'm made to eat my words.

I hope you're made to eat your words too! And I think you are being a bit pessimistic. An honest prediction from me would be 8th-12th

I honestly think we will be ok. i had doubts to start with, regarding the defence but if King can work his magic had get a decent experienced centre back we will be fine. We need a leader at the back someone who can organise, not an inexperienced non-leaguer.

Bottom half for me. I don't think i'm being pessimistic, more realistic. It'll be more the sweeter if we do well, cause i'm really not expecting much.

When you look at the sides in the div this season, and then look at their comings and goings....its a bit difficult to find 4 who look in worse shape than us.
Port Vale possibly......Scunthorpe of the teams coming up...Southend looked half decent last season, so should be around for a couple of seasons.
Colchester and Chesterfield seem to get mentioned, but ColU always seem reasonable when I've seen them play....Chesterfield i would imagine will finish bottom half.
This is the sort of process the 4-4-2 lot have done and put us 21st.
I think if we are to have a comfortable season then a good start is necessary...if we' don't pick up a win in the first 3 games, then the alarm bells will be ringing.

Agreed but I can't see it. Our pre-season has been shite. And the two week break between the last friendly and Barnsley is a fucking disaster. The team have had no time playing together and their fitness levels can't be that high. Were fucked good style.

Hate to agree. But its true. The proper team has had just 45 minutes at Aylesbury. The middle of midfield is THE most important part of the team and its had a minimal run out.
We have got good forwards. But its no good if the pressures off because weve conceeded an early goal.
Its going to take maximum determination and concentration from the boys in the early games to get results. Were still that midfield general short (as we have been for years). Whalley is like Migs mark 2.

Grant Smith and Brian Howard look strange in the 03/04 pic.
Yes we are fooked next season, but it won't matter as we will be bust by early next year anyway.
Unless our fickle narrow minded 'fans' want to watch us of course. I swear we are one of the worst supported clubs in the football league (at home - we're alright away from home)

We are bloody well suppported at away games. The real fans we do have are the dogs bollocks! but unfortubately there are too many people who use Kingy as an excuse not to come.
According to what people say, if Reeves was made manager (or anybody else!) then we would have 10,000 minumum every week. MY ARSE!
That's why the club is in such a cr*p position. But don't get me started on that!

People said they wouldn't come well McMahon was in charge. They say the same now, just an excuse for not going to the games.
