Aru must've had some lovely rest (read - blood bags) on top of drafting vehicles.
Tony's face definitely speaks volumes

His performance was a shocking improvement. Obviously learnt a lot from his time at Astana

Today’s stage was amazing, will be interesting to see how the effort of today affects Froome tomorrow

Yup, I think Froome has painted a big old target on his back that he could well have done without.
Henao and Poels finished 11 minutes back from Froome, the others might have been saving themselves or might have been utterly knackered.
I guess we'll find out tomorrow!

But what else could Froome have done to get himself into the position he is in? i.e. in a realistic position to win the race with one actual racing stage to go?

It's a genuine question - I've watched quite a bit of cycling in the last few years (just the 'Big 3' really) and I find it fascinating without really understanding/appreciating the intricacies of it (although I'm getting there).

Agreed. 3-4 mins is a long way behind. The only way to make that sort of time up was to go early and hope to be able to hang on. Stage 19 was a course that Froome liked and had trained on lots. Sky said that he had come into the race deliberately under cooked so that he could build fitness during the 3 weeks and finish strong.

Yates, Chavez, Aru and Pinot came in strong and have faded.

Dumoulin - Well lets see. (I haven't watched stage 20 yet)

Nothing -  I just wondered how the team would react given some of them looks out on their feet...er pedals

Le blaireau being moody

My take - Froome shouldn't have his career put on hold because someone leaked details of his adverse analytical finding that others have not had in the public eye.

The downside to this is that all hell will break loose if he can't explain things/the legal argument fails.

Here's another article on the legal side:

Frankly Hinault can fuck right off with his history and attitude to dope tests during his career....

I am entirely indifferent to Froome, however, I am a little pleased that he won just to piss off all the self righteous and ill informed cycling 'fans' on Twitter.

(I put fans in inverted comma's as I am convinced they along with many journalists have fuck all interest in the sport, but love a good scandal!)

Nice to see some are doing some research regarding his case and not just rolling out the tired argument that Berts ban is some kind of precedent... my understanding is that assuming he has tested clean at the worlds and Giro, he is not subject to any ban as yet nor has his case actually been even heard so its only the Vuelta (where the adverse test actually was) which would be at risk....

I love cycling, the majority of followers less so!
