Cup-a-soup before secondary school, though they just mainly sang the advert theme every now and again.
Football/after primary school I was just Batch, which was lucky because it matches my forum name. I have some friends that many years I don't think they know my fist name.
Some School friends and acquaintances I remember:
Name Based : Beano, Boner, Spuggy, Chuckie (Norris) Ability Based : Spaz, drip, cabbage. Coat Colour based: Mouldy Unknown orgin: Magoo (you think you could guess but he didn't wear glasses)
Greg Davis take (language NSFW):

Most people just call me Phelpsie, no one really calls me by my first name. Also been called Forehead due to my high forehead, Neville Longbottom and grapeboy

At school, my nickname was farmer, because in my first ever R.E lesson, we were asked to colour something in and i proclaimed "I aint got no colours"

I still drift in to similar sentences. It amused my old Geordie/Mackem work colleagues greatly. Be raised in West Wiltshire and be doomed for eternity.

Paul Romaines the cricketer was called Human
That's a great one! A kid at school always used to move his head from side to side - obviously now he had some medical reason for so doing - unsurprisingly he was known as Wobble Head - trimmed down to plain old Wobble. Strange thing was, he was impervious to pain.

A guy at work has got the shakes, drops things all the time, etc. No idea if its a medical condition or not but we call him Wobbly regardless.

Pullin or Dickie was my nickname at school. A few friends still call me Dickie which I don't mind.
Origins: Dick Pullen sounds like a term for masturbation.
