This is quite funny - Friend of mines parents decided to cover both eventualities when getting Oxford tickets - one got in the queue about 5am, the other decided to wait until the phone lines opened - 10.30 arrived and the one that phoned got 5 tickets before the guy who had been queuing for 5 hours got to the ticket office therefore had queued for nothing in the freezing cold!
There was a chap in front of me, with his daughter, who queued from 7am. His wife was also trying to get tickets on the phone. Just as we reached the door his wife phoned to say she got tickets, so he buggered off. We also had two kids in front of us that queued for 3 hours and then gave up! They would have got a ticket.

How many games have you been to this season ? The system was open to abuse and people abused it. I feel sorry for the ST holders that could not get there to queue up and could not get through on the phones that now miss out

That was my problem with the 5 season tickets per person, Fred. Some of those at Oxford who borrowed a ST simply do not deserve to be there. [and no I'm not having a go at the club, and no I don't blame those who took advantage, even if you are wankers!]

Season ticket holders had prioirty and priority they should have, if non-season ticket holders have obtained tickets at the expense of season ticket holders not getting them than that is clearly wrong. Although I would have done the same

To stop non season ticket holders getting them, surely the only way around it would be 1 per person, with a Passport/Driving licence to prove its there season ticket.

Then we go over the same argument again, why should season ticket holders have preference over non season ticket holders?
Because I have to pick and choose games due to funds, does that make me less of a fan?
If someone has offered me an Oxford ticket, then surely I'd be mad to turn it down?

If any season ticket holders didn't want an Oxford ticket for whatever reason it would make sense to let another Swindon fan who doesn't have a season ticket to use it.

It's not so much about preference to season ticket holders for me.
It's about preference to those that attend home games and travel the length and breadth of the country to the less glamorous games that should be rewarded with a ticket to games like these.
If you don't go much and you were jammy enough to get a ticket, then furry muff. But you should at least be magnanimous enough to recognise that more deserving people missed out.
