So now we know why tickets for our game were sold 3 months prior to kick-off.

They were desperate for the money.

You goon, why would you not sell 10,000 tickets in advance if you could?

I'd like Oxford to be in the same division as us every year, lose twice to us and finish below us every year.

Lets be honest, we want to be better than then dont we? but i'd rather be better by beating them twice a season and finishing above them. Even if we finished 1st and them 2nd all the way to the Premier League.

Also, all these fans hatred for Oxford - the same people who wanted to sign their captain (or at one point captain) the other week, for shame....

The only way we would sell 10,000 3 months in advance is if it was a cup final...

That says more about Swindon than Oxford.

Because there is no need?

What football club outside the Premiership doesn't need £200,000 if it's there and waiting?

It was just common sense to sell the tickets, because we could.

The tickets will still be sold. That 200k will still be obtained.

And by your logic, can we assume tickets to your other matches are being sold 3 months in advance?

So why couldn't you wait until now? The board budget and manage cash flow during the season so asking for £200k months before the game either says your board can't manage cash flow or you are in trouble. I don't know of any other club that has picked the biggest income game of the year and pulled the gate money in early.

Doing what you've done is basically the same as going to QuickQuid for a payday loan, just to cover your bills now.

As you say though it is probably just common sense, just like your board agreeing to sell your main striker to your main rivals. Yeah, you don't need the money.

Your biggest game is always the next game.

Why are the Pox playing today instead of yesterday?

One final thing. Bit alarmed that Redknapp almost got involved with the scum. He would have been brilliant for them. Phew!

We've covered this already.  While the cashflow advantage arising from selling the tickets early would certainly have helped, Oxford's main incentive was probably to ensure crowd segregation.  They probably always knew, or at least suspected, that they were going to offer an allocation to our fans that would fall well short of the demand.  (We took 4,000 to Leicester yesterday, so fair to assume the demand for the Oxford game would be 3,000+).  Selling out their own allocation first ensured that none of our fans would end up in the home stands when they realised that the away allocation was so inadequate.

Quite clever really.  And all the more important given that a fair proportion of our fans have Oxfordshire addresses/OX postcodes - making it difficult for ticket office staff to know who they're selling to.

Well Oxford fan one of your own told me before new year that it was a money issue thing. He also suggested that the same reason applied to the Constable saga. Constable was offered an improved and extended contract after the August game, that he's not banged in many goals this season didn't help his or your situation. So, yeah, points to a cash flow bottle neck as you also had very few home games in November also.....

Not according to your fans. Many say that if we were playing the derby at the County Ground in March, you would sell out now - but you didn't earlier this season.

And also, imagine this scenario. Someone is offering you £200,000. You can either have it now, and put it in the bank to earn interest, or wait 3 months and lose out on the interest. Are you saying you'd wait? You're a fuckwit. Azza you're similarly retarded for suggesting that it's a loan. I hope you two don't run your own businesses.

Ardilles has a point too. I sat with your fans, and a good few of ours, in the reverse fixture remember.

1. Why aren't we selling Clarke and Leven too, then?
2. Is your friend the club accountant?
3. Does he know that we were one of the few clubs in the football league to turn in a profit last season?
4. Is he aware that we've just got about 7 players who never play for us off the wage bill?

I can't wait to leave this lot in L2. After 10 years apart this rivalry has become nothing short of embarrassing. I'm bored of feeling unrelenting pity for them.

If you have cashflow problems it won't be going anywhere near a bank to earn interest
