They should do it on a geographical basis. Those closest to the Kassam get priority for tickets.
I have an aunt who lives in Benson, which can be no more than 10 miles from the Kassam - and (and this is the clincher) we also now have a player called 'Benson'. Would that swing it?

The reason why i don't think season ticket holders should get priority is because i think they should only be rewarded for their home loyalty only. Away tickets should be treated differently imo. The current system rewards some fans who may not usually go away, whilst others who go away regularly will miss out.
i'm not in favour of a free for all from the outset. I know it won't change prior to the scum match. it's just my view on the current system.

A new system could be introduced which would deal with away games only. This season is too late i know

I sort of see your point arriba, but I don't think it's possible to set up a system to work it, unless away trips are all ticket only. In truth, away supporters aren't helping the club financially on those occasions (in a direct way), so why should the club give them priority ?. Also, it's more of a factor given the number of season ticket holders we have in relation to the ground capacity of most clubs in this division

1. There's still a lot of pay on the day away games, with no proof of whether you went or not. 2. Giving ST holders priority means the club is rewarding the fans that financially help STFC, if you go to a lot of away games how much, financially, does the club benefit? 3. Most (Although I appreciate not all) regular away supporters have ST's. You may get a fair few out of town supporters that attend away games close to home, but those that go to all, or most, away games will have ST's. Much as I value arriba's opinion usually, this time he's talking bollards.

Nonsense! I'm a ST holder but due to the fact that I work night's, it makes it difficult to attend as many away games as I'd like. People know from the off, that ST holders get ticketing preference whether it's an FA Cup game or a League Play Off. That's just how the system works!

As hertha pointed out, it's also the only way it could work in terms of administrative simplicity. The club does not have the time or the money to create a system to reward attendance at away games. I'm not sure why it should either.
I've had a season ticket for only one year since I started out in 1990 (guess which one!) and I'm completely comfortable with season ticket holders having first refusal on tickets when they're scarce.

Oh just mug one of the cunts on the way to the ground. It'll be easier than trying to be one of the 1300.
