I'll help you carry it on to a public road for the reward of a lamb dansak and a beer.

Some tool parked a car on the pavement down my road in June. Left it there until last week when I reported it to the council as abandoned and to the dvla as untaxed. It was declared SORN. The pavement is still the road though. Stupid thing is it's a '71 plate and can be taxed free. Surely if you are filling in a form you might as well tax it rather than declare off road.  It's now on their drive...

No idea what to do if it's in a private car park.

Just thought I'd share.

I'm assuming the person who left it does not have off road parking!  I wonder if it's insured? If so, why would you insure a car and not use it?

Thats' the point though. Now you have to have a car taxed whether or not you use it........... Unless you SORN it

Mines a 57!

We've got 2 abandoned cars and a moped in our flat car park. It was raised at the first residents meeting in 2 and a half years and the management company said there was bugger all they could about it.

Management companies are just a waste of time and a rip off.
I would love to be a fly on the wall in one of your resident meetings.

The fact it's SORN is pretty irrelevant.  It's still illegal to park on private property whether it's insured or SORN.  The only reason the management company aren't acting is presumably they can't see any profit involved.  The local council may move it if you whine to them, as regardless it shouldn't be there...

Phone the police, tell them there a bomb planted under it. It'll soon go, although you may not be able to go home for a while.

Its got to be the management company that sorts this, given they own the land.

I'd keep badgering them/threatening to withhold fees until they do their job.
