Gareth Ainsworth was complimentary about their style this season when he was on the EFL show Saturday night
You mean ex Lincoln favourite Gareth Ainsworth. Not so much the Wycombe fans on their forum after the match, manager of a Wycombe side who play a long ball game and rely upon set peices.

Lincoln are absolute shit to watch.

Lincoln came for a point and they played negative tactics all game trying to spoil things

If you had told me Lincoln were a non-league team and this was an FA Cup match, I would have thought it a credible explanation for the game.

Bringing on Akinde at half-time was an excellent move by Cowleys since Lincoln had offered zero threat in the first half

5-0 would not have been an unfair scoreline today. Blown away by us today and disappointed with Lincoln.

Lincoln were are a good side at this level but were made to look very ordinary

I don't like the Cowley's but one thing to note - the style argument falls down a bit these days as they've completely moved away from the direct, shithousing of old. Look at their recruitment in the summer - Jorge Grant, Walker, Connolly...
Yep, Lincoln played some superb stuff last season (including when they stuffed us at Sincil Bank) but there seems to be this myth peddled by a couple on here that they are a modern day version of John Beck痴 Cambridge.

This is a good move for them and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

If the Cowley's implement a similar style/styles of play that they have so far, at Huddersfield then the 'udders may as well have kept Seivert. The only way they will stay up this season is if they utilise the players they have properly. Someone like Alex Pritchard will not be wanting to play "bunch up and lump it" football. He likes to run at defences and can terrify. Release a player like that on the field and you'll cause problems. This ultimately was Seivert's problem; a failure to play the team to their strengths. I saw it versus Derby, and it flattered Derby but for one moment of class from Lawrence. The rest was gifted by 'udders through schoolboy errors, awful shape and poor tactics.

I can't see the Cowley's doing any better UNLESS they change style. Keeping them up will be deemed a success but I still have 'udders marked for relegation and that was after the first game. The rot has continued from last season. It's a similar story in this division with Scunny. My reckoning is we will be playing Huddersfield next season, and we'll beat them.

Well he would....the Manager who has Afinkenwa knocking people off their feet is going to like that style of play.

I'm ok with it...I admired how organised they were

Managerial wise it's a tougher ask to step up as Macari found out.

Oldham very much belong in the "it could be worse..." thread.
