Another thing that makes me laugh, when Amy Winehouse died so many would show compassion and rant that addiction is a disease and impossible to overcome (which i agree with) but surely these people, even the one who got shot are doing so because the community they are in. If you feel sympathy for a millionaire drugo surely kids who are born into nothing deserve some consideration. Very good point and yes I rather stupidly over look that point. And again these kids are acting like twats, BUT be honest do you think that if you were born in an terrible area and raised in a poor family, do you think that you would be the person you are today. Not sayin you'd be a looter or rioter but you defiantly wouldn't be the person you are now. For example you'd be left supporting Tottenham and not the mighty town .

like i said i don't think you can blame their social upbringing for what they're doing, most of them are adults and therefore mature enough to make decisions for themselves rather than just joining in this mob mentality and seeing it as an opportunity to get free stuff. The opportunities are there for them, but most choose not to take advantage of these opportunities and would rather spend their days doing nothing or looking for an easy way to make money.

As for harsh punishments, America has a very brutal criminal system and yet % wise one of the worst crime rates in the world. Interesting. Yea that is a brilliant point. I feel I've come across as preachy but some views I just straight up disagree with. 10,000 more police have been sent to London though, to put that in perspective only 6000 were there last night. I think the crack down begins now

Starting to agree with this now - the first priority now needs to be to stop the activity. Only then can we worry about what caused it and try to address the deeper issues.

On that note, it was interesting to see the American-style "Jankel" armoured vehicles used in London for the first time last night. I expect we'll see much more of this if the trouble continues to the same extent tonight.
