Yep. Ashton has been spotted driving away from the CG in a DeLorean. It looks like it's gonna happen. Fingers crossed.

Thank God for that! Presumably that means we get a time travelling Ashton from 4 years ago, back when he could walk, rather than the crock that he is now.

Thing is that Ashton was born in Swindon....so would make sense i suppose.

Isnt this one of the biggest myths in Swindon Town history?

I believe he was born here, but he moved up north when very young, so the myth is that we "missed out on him".

This is correct, I read somewhere he was 2 or 3 when he moved to Cheshire I think it said so technically was never on our local radar.

Well, we know where we're goin'
But we don't know where we've been
And we know what we're knowin'
But we can't say what we've seen
And we're not little children
And we know what we want
And the future is certain
Give us time to work it out

Darren Eadie was the player that we really missed out on.Ben Thatcher to a lesser extent, but at
least he did play for the youths, but was released.

What used to be Rothmans, has Ashton down as being born in Crewe...

Would letting Theo Walcott leave for Southampton as a school boy count as a slightly bigger miss?

No because the club has no control over this....Soton paid the compensation.

However, Rupert Lowe popping up on the news when they sold him to Arsenal moaning about how kids shouldn't be poached under the age of 18 nearly made me pop a blood vessel at the time.

Someone else (with no connection to the TEF) also mentioned Ashton to me today.

Looks like there's some legs in this one...

Lets hope not I'd hate to see him do himself some more serious permanent damage. Top class player though
