As we need a midfielder, can we poach Leven aswell? Oxford are clearly short of cash.

Previous reported bids of £175K and £250k both turned down, and now Oxford's official site states... "Oxford United Football Club can confirm they have received a much improved offer from Swindon Town Football Club for James Constable and after discussions with the player have given permission for him to talk to the club" http://www.oufc.co.uk/page/News/0,,10342~2582202,00.htmlIF (and that's a big if) the reported bid figures are anywhere close to the amounts, surely constable isn't worth a "much improved" offer? we paid £250k for Coxy? I'd have thought figures in that region could net us quite a reasonable striker? I'm slightly worried we might be throwing money down the drain possibly?

Its times like these that we all realise how much we all hate them lot down the A420. I'm not too fussed about JC being sold, as I think we can do better (and I know for certainty that Wilder feels the same) but to sell him to Swindon is such a kick in the bollocks for us. Anyone but them.
Just tried to explain it to my kids, my lad's first ever shirt had Beano on the back. He's bewildered at this news. Watch him score the winner at the Kassam in 6 weeks time.
Anyone but them James, anyone.
Gotta feel sorry for the kid How evil of the parents to indoctrinate him in such a way

I got told the initial bid was £120k and then the second one was £165k. Reportedly the fee is £180k rising to £210k if we get promoted.

So it's £210k then.

To be fair, most of the tweets seem to be wishing him well, there are of course a few idiot chavs giving him abuse. This one made me chuckle though: dont leave us mate.Just named my cat Beano & don't fancy shouting duuuuubes everytime I have to call him in for food #oufc
