Didn't Gilbert O'Sullivan write that?
Buggered if I know. I just quickly recalled something that I remember about Penzance. I think that I may have been to Penzance when a youngster, not quite sure though. I have definitely been to Perranporth. A strange place with a strangely beach, but then that's Cornwall for you.

Hello tans,
First let me congratulate you on making an absolutely cracking choice on your holiday location, well done!
Now don't listen to SRFC dave, he clearly knows very little about holidaying in Cornwall! It's a great location for couples, families and the older generation alike. Whatever your interests, there's going to be something for you!
If shopping's your thing, then there's plenty of it in Penzance town centre. From the more local individual shops of Lower Causewayhead, to the bigger national retailers of Market Jew Street. There'll be something to fit your needs.
If eating and drinking is your think, then we have many great restaurants and bars, with many of our cosy local pubs providing regular jazz nights.
If you like a bit of history then there's of course St. Michael's Mount (Karrek Loos y'n Koos). Less well known there's Penlee House Gallery & Museum, and Porthcurno Telegraph Museum - home of the world's first directed telegraph link!
For a bit of culture then why not check out the spectacular open air Minack Theatre! Currently in the middle of it's seventeen week summer season, it's a must see!
I hope this information has been of help to you tans, it's only scratching the surface of what Penzance and the West Cornwall area has to offer.
I hope you have a wonderful time.

To think that Ben actually took the time out to do that.
Bless him.
(I know that it is the work of Ben because of the Token Jew reference)

Who the fuck holidays in cornwall? Ummm....people who like to party or surf in places such as Newquay? Although i agree that Penzance isn't really a 'holiday' type of place. More of a place to visit

When I went there it was full of pisshead dossers with their dogs. Its actually alright but there are a load of wasters there - more than most other places I've been to

Miserable load of gits - luckily we have a select class of tourist in the far south west Closeby to PZ (which is a bit of a hole) are Mousehole, St Ives, Marazion, Sennen etc etc + great local beers. As MR says the Isles of Scilly are tantalisingly close (2 Town fans, me and one of the PCs !) - try to avoid the boat unless it is dead calm, with no wind or swell as you will revisit your breakfast - well I usually do. You can use the chopper or fixed wing - not cheap - but if a nice day + you get a full day in, stunningly beautiful - look at the simplyscilly site for details. Have fun

The term 'fixed wing' always makes me chuckle.
Yes I do know what the term means, but it still makes me wonder: "What if they weren't fixed on, they might fall off"

You'd be better off going to St Ives, much nicer than Penzance.
I love Cornwall though, and if that makes me a sad old fucker.....well I am!
