Last time I was in Penzance, got off the train, had a beer in a pub by the station, and started cycling back to Swindon. Not sure there's much to do there.

http://www.10best.com/destinations/uk-england/penzance/Hi tans....theres some nice places around Penzance fairly local as well....its the same old story bud...nice weather you will love it,bad weather you will hate it....not a bad little beach and if you hunt around some secluded spots nearby. Hope you have a great time.

Me. Its more tricky to get away with little uns. Besides which I love Cornwall when its sunny. Not so much when it rains.

I understand familys with kids, or elderly couples. Wouldn't really have rated it highly on the 'couples holiday chart' though. Theres just nothing to do, unless you like looking at old stones and cliff faces

I think its to do with getting old Dave. There are loads of nice villages to eat drink and be merry in. And, erm, well...

As also a couple, with no kids, we find its more expensive to stay in this country then go abroad somewhere outside the EU.

There is a user online called Penzance Tourist Board. Perhaps he/she can provide some useful information.
