Always Sir Dans for me. Cheap drinks, and if your a smoker it caters quite well for you. A lot of my friends smoke and they all agree the smoking ban has NOT stopped them going out. Just the general state of the ecomomy means your average punter has less spare cash at the end of the month.

In my favourite pub in Brighton they charged me about £3.50 for a pint, which I think you'll agree is fucking disgraceful.

Quite right.  I go to pubs less than I used to.  But when I do go, I'll never waste an evening/lunchtime now in a bad one.  The good pubs will survive.  A lot of the ropey ones will not.

Having said that, I've got a cheeky black Normandy beer on the go at home.  Still, pub tomorrow, as usual.

Theres a pub in bath that only serves local ale and ciders, and I think the most expensive drink is £3. It's well good

In terms of prices round old town, I earn less than two pints an hour. Which means I can drink beer in the pub faster than I can earn it.

12bar prices take the piss, end of.

Indeed. It is better to go and get tanked up somewhere close by like the Glue Pot before hand. Nicer beer and much cheaper. Just have one in 12 Bar while you are watching the gig and then retire back for a few more after.

The Greyhound is directly opposite and is a) cheaper, and b) a far better pub than the 12 Bar. In fact there is no reason to go to the 12 Bar unless you really want to see the band who are on. It's not even open on a Saturday lunchtime, for fucks sake

I popped in there one night on the way to 12 Bar to get some emergency stogies. The regulars gave me strange looks and the bar staff were almost snarling (this was before I ordered anything). Are you sure it is ok LS?

Anyone know what the (pub that used to be the Pipers Arms) is now. I passed it last Saturday in the day and thought there seemed to be a lot of people eating. Is it a restaurant now?

Pig on the hill. Haven't been in, but I think they've gone in more of a food direction.

Now you mention it, it might have been.. Is that a bit dodgy then? Probably not as rough as the 12 Bar was when it was the Ship though.

It's not the nicest of pubs. I think all of the regulars that used to get in The Ship moved on to the Bunch of Grapes.
