King reveals signing EXCLUSIVE
14 Jun 2005 10:30

Swindon Town boss Andy King has exclusively revealed to clubcall that ex-Bolton midfielder Ricky Shakes has agreed to join the club on July 1, writes Kevin Hatchard.

The Robins have been linked with a move for the 20-year-old for several weeks, and King has admitted a deal has been agreed in principle:

'I met young Shakes and his mother last week, and even though you can't really sign anyone until July 1, we shook hands on a deal.'

'We agreed in principle about money so I told him that he has my hand and to be with us on July 1.'

Why doesn't the official site give us this then? might give those fans that don't check many footie sites something to get excited about.

Has anyone ever called clubcall to see if it is a "King Exclusive" or some bloke reading out an old story he found on the Tinternet to get people to phone in?

Good stuff anyway, think  he will be a real asset and should be good for a few goals.

Great signing if he signs, Bury fans loved him they were hoping he'd go to them.

i rang it just out of curiosity and it came from King saying he had signed.
He met up with him at the Australia v New Zeeland game.
He laughed when he said that he brought his mum along.
All is agreed with the player, his mum and his agent and will be here with us on July 1st

It all sounds positive regarding young Shakes abilities, we need to bear in mind that his first team experience is limited to one 4-game loan spell with Bury though if I'm correct

He looks strong though, so if there is some skill aswell he should do OK in this league.

I just hope he can cross a ball.  When was the last time we had someone play regularly on the right and consistantly put good balls into the box?
