Been off since mid July with a fractured arm. The bone broke free and four weeks later i had surgey to pin it which was three days before my holiday to Cyprus, you can image that was a bundle of fun. Been told i'm not ready for work for at least another two weeks....... What's more annoying is my senior manager casually dropping into the conversation yesterday if i could see my way to attending a two day two night stop sales meeting next week if someone picked me up and dropped me off.

Probably just as well to start looking for a new job now.

Renewing car insurance.

Got a renewal premium from Hastings Direct of £314.82 almost double last years.

Used Go Compare and their quote is nearly £100 less than what they quoted me by letter.

Industry standard IMO.

Ring them up and get them to price match
Or cancel then take out the new quote
Or go elsewhere.

Loyalty is expensive, shop around.

Insurers may as well be upfront about it and show the 'loyalty premium' of 40% or whatever at the bottom of a renewal quote.  It's the surcharge they make on folk who can't be bothered to shop around for no reason other than they can.  My most recent Home & Contents quotation from Direct Line came in at about £330; and there were a raft of insurers prepared to insure me for less than half that.  not surprisingly, I didn't renew.

Don't really know who's at fault on this one but I'm going to go for HR clowns.

Got headhunted for an awesome job, going through the process, interviewed today.... 50 mins in, as we're wrapping up, the MD mentions the job's in Paris - HR guy has said all along it's in Chiswick!

A) it completely threw me and B) I don't want to move to Paris. Or anywhere for that matter.

Made me, himself and his MD look mighty silly.

I would. Nomadic by nature thanks to following the old man round with his career. Missus might as well be chained to the Tower of London though.

Have pushed for a split - 2 days a week there, which could work. Just so disappointed given my current shite storm of a job.

Similarly maritally chained to Paris. But if you swing it, let me know. Paris is fantastic if you do it right.
