I don't do cards for any occasion. Your family will get used to it.

Make one. Get a used cereal packet, some cheap glue, felt tip and some glitter. Jobs a good'un.

Birthday cards. Actually, cards of any kind that don't really mean anything.
At what point in our existence was it deemed a good fucking idea for everyone to send eachother a piece of card that costs £2-3 per friend/relative every year showing how much you love eachother through the medium of someone else's words, to be read once at best for the cursory and box ticking message (Dear John, Happy Birthday, from Brian) and shaken longingly in the hope it might have something that we actually want (cash) in it.
I can just about see the point of getting one from a significant other that might actually say something of note, but the perfunctory Clintons shite that everyone seems to be bound by some non-optional social convention to exchange once a year can fuck off.
This rant has nothing to do with the fact that my mother has told me that I have to send one to my father rather than calling him on his birthday. Apparently actual social conversation is to be shunned in favour of some filler for the recycling bin.
Spot on.

Watching the rest of this (quite boring) game, then turning over from the last couple of minutes to watch the Coventry/Sheffield match. I MISSED ALL THE EXCITEMENT! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24417575

Davids is a bit of a 'look at me' in my opinion.
Given himself the number 1 shirt. Why?!

Coventry despite their parlous state look half decent...the boy Wilson is a handful, and links well with Clarke. I'd imagine they may struggle to keep Wilson come January.

I drank some tea earlier, I just researched the name of it and it turns out it's toxic. I only had one mug of it so I won't die hopefully.

Mountain Germander. It was the worst cup of tea I've ever had. Extremely bitter, think of the bitterness of a grapefruit but without any sweetness.

sounds like my mum's husbands adopted son, who 'accidentally' foraged the wrong mushrooms for his dinner and ended up in A&E with really severe jaundice...

Two hours later and I'm still alive, although there is a rather large elephant pottering around in the garden outside.

Shocking stuff. To be fair, he probably couldn't see properly through the dried insect soup on his windscreen.
