everyone is talking as if paynter going is a done deal.do you lot know something i dont?
No, as I keep saying, I just think it's going to happen. He was stalling on signing a new contract because he presumably wanted to see how the season unfolded (quite reasonably) It has now unfolded and we're obviously going to be in L1 next season. I'm just guessing that a Championship side comes in for him. If so, he will go. I'll be very surprised if that does not happen.

Well he'd have to test himself if the opportunity came up. What with being on a free and all could be a nice little earner with the signing on fee.

I have some doubts he's do it in the Championship. But you never know

Edit: Arriba beat me to it!

I think he would do ok in the Championship. Nothing spectacular, just ok.

Any way, it's about whether Paynter thinks he's Championship level and whether his agent can convince a club that he is.

If Rory Fallon can do a decent job in the Championship, then so can Paynter.

Actually that's not a bad point.

Sorry, lost the computer the missus for a while.  It's like a pool table in a pub. Not literally tho.

Should we not try and get Big Rory back -- might be difficult after he gets the Golden Boot at the world cup

Yeah 6 bookings 5 goals.

Still that overhead kick against City was class.  Even if it was a fluke.

He's played 121 Championship games in the last 3 and a half season, so he must be doing something right.

Even if its not being a prolific goal scorer.

Dave they have been battling relegation and hardly have the pulling power to get anyone better. I know you like him and i wouldn't actually mind him here just think he is not a championship player like some would want us to think he is.

I have no feelings either way towards Fallon but 4 seasons in the Championship, indicate to me he's a Championship player.

Plymouth havent always been relegation battlers either, they finished 10th a few seasons back.

Weirdly the season he played the least games for them (13) is the best season they have had.

Rory Fallon, for me, is without doubt a League One player. He did okay, certainly tried hard but couldn't finish his chances. As soon as Sturrock and Mariner arrived that was it
for him really.
