If you compare Paynters and Pericards goal ratio before they came to Swindon they are pretty much identical.

I'm sure that if (when) Paynter does go, Pericard will be 1st choice striker along with Austin next season - unless hell freezes over and we get Ward for another season.

Can't see that happening, Whoever we buy to replace Paynter will partner Austin next season IMO, We would also need to bring in another striker so we have 4 strikers.

Celtic apparently interested in Jimmy Bullard, Joe Ledley and Liam Lawrence. Looks good for us RE Ferry

http://www.swindontownfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10341~2062734,00.html

Kurt Hammons + Mark Marshall relesead.
Mark Scott, Craig Easton & Michael Timlin offered new deals so far.

Opinions?  Hmmm

I was a little unsure about Easton + Timlin getting new deals  Doh (Scott is clearly seen as a prospect), but maybe Danny is trying to "bulk up" the squad size? And rotate a little more, earlier in the season against some of the teams whose form isn't doing so well while resting others?

I didnt realise Nathan Thompson was signed up for next season?

Same with LJF - he was definitely only offered a year last year, so has signed at some point. Didnt make that one public did they?

Too many threads!

I'd be suprised to see Timlin AND Easton here next season. Both can do a good job (especially Easton) but neither are going to play regularily. If they get offers of first team footy why would they stay?!

Not seen Hammonds play much so can't comment. Shame Marshall didn't work out as he had a few good games. But we need better quality/consistency IMHO.

No news on a contract for Alex Henshall?? Can't believe we would not try to retain him...

Does this mean he's being handed a shiny Man City contract instead, or am I reading into things too much too soon again?  No

No, I think its pretty common knowledge he's on his way to Man City or Liverpool

The important thing with Henshall is that if he does go we need to agree a payment rather than relying on a tribunal. Which you'd think is pretty likely if he goes to Liverpool or Man City as we've been talking to them and building a relationship - I'm sure Henshall would have been a part of those talks. I can see him coming straight back on loan for a season or two as well.

Could be a decent seven figure payment if he really is as good as everyone says.
