Which bit? I thought it was ok, I understand that His wife's b/f did a 180 degree about turn in less than a minute, but that's what you get for a 1 hour program.

Think it was worthy of the whole series being spread over 12 episodes instead being a bit squashed into 6. Maybe they were worried it wouldn't be very popular or aunty beeb is a bit skint.

There will be........series 2. I think sometimes leaving unanswered questions gives the imagination more to work on.
I think enough was cleared up to end this series.

My guess is none of them will.....we will see, possibly

I cannot stand open-ended, cop-out endings.  Seems to be all the rage, but basically an excuse for script-writers to avoid having to write a proper one.

'What happens to Luther?  You decide.'

No.  Fuck off.  I've invested 6 hours of my valuable time watching this series, so the least you can do is provide a definitive ending.  It was a bollocks ending.

They'll be introducing this next at home games.  88 minutes on the clock, we're level at 2-2 vs Bristol City and Charlie's attacking the Stratton Bank.  And then the players walk off.  Result?  You decide.  Make up your own ending.  It's all the rage.  Like I said...bollocks.

Best episode of great series for me. Loved the way they've developed the relationship between Alice and Luther, him turning to her for help made sense and it all worked perfectly. Couldn't help but sort of feel she was a good guy come the end, though that doesn't seem right what with her killing four people.

As much as I love Idris Elba, I thought Ruth Wilson was the star of the show come the end - acted to perfection.

Just hope the BBC hurry up and confirm a new series, be very surprised if they don't.

And just because it worked for The Italian Job, doesn't mean everyone else can do it.

Nothing wrong with the ending and it was the only way they could end it.

Luther never gets closure, he's always dealing with a disaster, he leaves a trail of destruction and he's always got something hanging over him. So if anything, tidying everything up and doing a happily ever after ending would have been out of place.

There must be another series on the cards otherwise they wouldnt have left it as a bit of a cliffhanger surely.

Nothing can ever be as disappointing as the end of the Sopranos!

i loved the ending.

luther stood over the body of dci reed who was murdered with a sawn off shotgun that had been fired by alice but had luther's prints on. remember alice saying that she would never betray him? who believes a sociopath?

mark's u-turn was sudden but at least plausible. when mark had doubted luther previously, he'd been proved wrong - e.g. alice 'invading' their home. it's a shame they didn't have long enough to explore mark's decision.

i drove home yesterday just to watch luther as i am sans tv and internet for a couple of weeks. it was worth it!
