Got some red wine on/in the keys. I've taken them off and cleaned as many as possible, but there are about 7 that still don't work. This has been since last saturday.

New keyboard perhaps, they are generally easy to fit. What's the make and model?

It's an Asus X5DINseries.

Crikey seems a bit new to have replacements keyboards floating about. Contact Asus for possible replacement under guarantee(leave out the wine bit) or contact your insurance company under accidental damage if you have it. One of those should sort you out, Asus one of the most reliable lappie makers and as such is a good choice
Or you could mention the wine to Asus and see what they say

They'll know pretty quickly it has liquid damage, the capaictors and resistors if it's got to the board will start having a nice green tinge.

It just died on her, PC World (where she bought it) said they couldn't do anything for a month or so, I have dealt with Camlab before and found them excellent. They couldn't look at it for a week, but fixed it this week. Don't know what was wrong.

For £35 reckon the memory was probably loose, would definately have been something simple, laptop repairs are always time consuming if anything more serious.

It's shocking what these companies charge for work. If it was memory related it would've taken 5 mins to do!

I'll fix it for you! £40 + parts.
Let me know what make and model the laptop is and I'll find out how much the new keyboard is.
