BBQ and lots of beer for me.

Be good people. I know some of you can get a bit melodramatic and frustrated but try and keep it civil.

Fooking shambles. We won't hear the last of it from those pikey tossers.

I feel for everyone that went to watch that shite.

I'm definitely glad I'm going out tonight to try and eradicate the memory of this day

Worst opening day result I can remember since 64/65, when we lost 6-1 at Bury in Div 2, then goalkeeper Norman Oakley broke his arm early on, think someone like Owen Dawson went in goal, and there were no subs.

So there were extenuating circumstances...we ended up getting relegated.

Wilson is already under pressure...he could very easily be gone by the end of August,  a bit like Bobby Smith...who went after losing the first 5.

Were we as bad as we sounded or were the Gyppos on fire?

Our managers usually get to at least November. Its usually Christmas time we start looking for a new manager.

Wilson wont last the season our managers never fucking do

Part of me would be disappointed if Wilson made the entire season. I think we should keep our run of not making an entire season with 1 manager going.

I followed the game (well, second half) on the BBC and it seems it was a disaster. Were there any redeeming features at all?  The defence, on whom we all expected to rely, couldn't apparently cope with Gillingham's big forwards.  God help us all when they come up against a quality attack. Was there any creativity in midfield, could we get or retain the ball? I feel almost betrayed.  The expectation was high, maybe unrealistically so, but this is a real confidence breaker.
The one bright spot is that they will need to graft for the next game - or else.

Our defence is slow.

Amankwaah is the only one with a bit of pace, so naturally Wilson put him right wing and put Cuthbert who has just come back from injury at full back with Jackson upfront.

Genius.

Agree, but Amankwha isn't exactly quality either.

whilst I admire your historic knowledge of STFC, you're deluded if you think that DW 'could easily be gone by the end of August'

no, but every defence needs someone with a bit of pace.

saying that, I think most of last season and pre-season Amankwaah looked solid enough at right back. Beggers belief Wilson changed it.
