When did hot become a flavour? Most flavours tend to relate more to a kind of food rather than a sensation. I'm looking forward to cramp flavour.

How did they get their name?
A characteristic of their nature. i.e. temperature, and then some bright spark (probably northern) coined the phrase 'hot nuts' and scraggy looking vendors at tourist hotspots have never looked back.
