i got a 3gs and it worked alright for me

whats it done to your phone jonny?

The 3GS has more ram and a faster processor.

My 3G is running really slow.

Loads of ppl I know have said its wiped their phone by trying to upgrade!  They cant get any of the data back. (3G as my boyfriend has a 3Gs and his is working fine after the upgrade)

I think I'm going to sit tight.

Erm, that's kind of the whole point of upgrading the firmware.

All they need to do is restore from a previous backup and it'll put all their apps etc. back.

i updated mine last night and now i can't use 3G internet or Send picture messages.
Tans is the same so could this be cos ours were jailbroken?

going down the Apple store at lunch to see if they can help

Has anyone with a jailbroken phone that has upgraded to IOS4 had any problems?

I cant browse the net unless my phone is connected to a wifi network, picture messaging wont work and 3g is patchy, Magicroundabout has the same problem

Mine 3g interweb etc broke after the upgrade. I just reset using itunes and then when it reloaded it had os 4 and everything is ok now.

Magic, I wouldn't take it down the apple store if you have jailbroken it. Can you not do a restore via itunes?

Google suggests it's to do with upgrading the firmware to iOS4 and then restoring settings/apps etc. from a previous backup.

If you do a clean install of iOS4 again and then set it up as a new phone (i.e. don't restore from a previous backup) the functionality appears to come back.

In conclusion, always wait for the first revised version before upgrading to a complete new firmware Smiley Same kind of bugs appeared when 3.0 was released.

the curiosity got the better of me last night so installed it.
Apple will do the restore if i go down later wont they?

my iphone will have no data on it to show it was jailbroken will it? Cydia etc has all been removed
