He should also get a medal for sucking up to Man United every time he covers one of their matches!

Giving these old pros a World Cup medal now (after 43 years for goodness sake!) is embarressing. He knows it, we know it.

I doubt he, Greaves, Flowers, Connolly, Eastham, Paine, Callaghan, Hunter, Bonetti, Byrne and Springett have ever kicked up a fuss about this.

Well... maybe Greaves Smiley

Armfield and Flowers were England veterans, probably adding experience to the squad - I wasn't around so I don't know whether that's true Smiley

Greaves wouldn't have needed extra time to score a hattrick.......... apparently

After the Rugby world cup, Greaves announced he was more interested in rugby than football... No one cared!

The 2003 one?

Greaves wouldn't have needed extra time to score a game-winning drop goal.

Armfield did get 43 caps, so he probably was good enough.

I'd far sooner listen to Greaves than Armfield on the radio.

But i also hate Alan Green as well so its probably just me  Smiley

Greaves played in the first 3 group games in 66, got injured and Hurst came in.

Greaves was a fantastic player, certainly in the top ten England players of the post war period.
